  • Gold Class Black Dust Question

    Has anyone else experienced this?

After applying two coats of the Gold Class wax (G7014J) on two different cars, a black dust/film appears on the sides and rear panels. In a way, it almost seems like the wax attracts the dust like some type of static charge. When I wipe/dust it off, you can actually hear static electricity discharging. BTW, I did not buff either car with an electrical buffer after applying the wax. For grins, I tried another brand on the sides and rear panels and the black dust is gone.
Just curious if I'm being to meticulous or why this is happening on both of my cars. I love how this wax goes on and off but the black film on a Torrent Red GTO really looks bad after a couple of miles.

    Thanks,

Re: Gold Class Black Dust Question

Static charge dust attraction is often a problem for all kinds of waxes: Can wax attract dust? To fight this, some folks like to spray their car immediately after waxing with Finish Kare 425, which ostensibly has anti-static qualities.
