NXT as a "stand alone" product

My sister just picked up her dark green 2005 Jeep Liberty. She is far from ever becoming and obsessive detailer. (One in the family is enough) No way is she going to clay this new vehicle prior to waxing. Will NXT tech wax do the job for her. Of course she will be applying and removing the tech wax by hand.

Would she better off using the consumer cleaner/wax prior to using the NXT?

NXT has cleaners in it so it would probably clean the paint's finish a little bit.. It would probably fill in very very fine swirls and cover them up but it wouldn't be the same as claying the finish nor cleaning the paint with a paint cleaner like #83 or something.

Even new vehicles can have significant swirls, or contamination, depending on how long, and where the vehicles have been sitting. I would give the paint a quick evaluation (visually, and by touch)before deciding on what products to use. You, or she may decide that a good paint cleaner, or other products are required prior to the NXT............. or maybe not? Going forward, if you sister is only going to wax "once in a blue moon", I would probably recommend a stronger one step product than NXT. The consumer wax, or ColorX might be a better choice. On the other hand, if she is going to wax once every 2 months or so, the NXT will probably do the job nicely. Provided, that the proper maintenance and techniques are used in between waxings.
