I once read an article about "waxes". Basically, If I can recall correctly, paste waxes was said to last longer than liquid wax for one reason. True carnuba wax in it natural form was more solid. In order for manufacturers to make carnuba wax "liquidy" the chemical structure had to be altered so that it remains in its liquid state. The result of this was that you were no longer dealing with 100% carnuba wax. This was probably before all the synthetic this and polymer that came around.
This is one reason that I always use to use paste waxes. The other is that I just can't stand the goop when some drips out of the bottle.
