  • M26 question

    Hello,

As most of you know, I purchased some Dodo Purple Haze car wax. Anyway, I'm going to compare Meguiars M26 to this Dodo stuff. However, I was wondering if I can apply M26 on top of my current sealant Fourstar Ultimate Paint Protection? Since it's so nice out today, I may run to my local Wal-mart or Autozone and pick up some M26. I've never used this stuff, but I'm interested to see what kind of a shine it will give.

    Thanks much!

Of course you can apply it on top or the UPP (or any other synthetic sealant, for that matter). Have fun!

        Re: M26 question

Actually, if you want to really test a product or two on paint then the best way would be to start with a fresh base. To do this simple use a light paint cleaner like Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner and apply it over the entire hood. Work section by section, wiping the residue off as your work your way around the hood.

This will remove any previously applied product. If you want to remove any trace residues left behind by the paint cleaner then wipe the hood down with a 50/50 mixture of Rubbing Alcohol to Water, or wash with a detergent soap. You can also use APC as a wax-stripper if you have that around.

Now tape off two one foot square areas with a little space between them and follow the manufactures directions for applying and removing the products.

Try to keep everything equal and fair.

Not yet! Still waiting for my Dodo Purple Haze to come. According to Fed EX's web site, it's suppose to be here on Tuesday 4/27. Depending on the weather this week (Chicago, IL), I may compare the both of them. I'll report any feedback...
