Hopefully Mike can answer this. IF I want SwirlX to have very little cut, aka a burnishing polish, can I use a glazing pad/pad with VERY little bite to do so? Is SwirlX pad dependent?
A polishing pad would be the 'general' pad to use.
There is no reason you cant try a finishing pad, but I do now know how much it would reduce the cleaning ability.
Like Murr suggested, you can use either a polishing or finishing pad. I suggest a test spot and see which pad gives you the results you are after.
My guess though is that SwirlX on a finishing pad would not be something that would be terribly effective at refining a finish that wasn't already polished with something slightly more aggressive. In other words, SwirlX and a finishing pad will offer a fairly low level of cut, but a great, glossy final finish.
Yes. Any of the non-diminishing abrasive polishes are very pad dependent in my experience. That being said, the best way to see if it's a difference that you can see is to do a test spot comparing a yellow and a black pad.
All paint care products can be affected by the gentleness or aggressiveness of your choice of application material.
Application Material can mean a foam buffing pad or an applicator pad you use by hand.
So yes, if you want less cut and more polishing/jeweling then use a foam finishing pad. You can also adjust machine buffing speeds, arm movement speeds, downward pressure and buffing cycle or time.
