  • Ultimate Quik Wax: Added video to the first post!

Ok, I finally busted this stuff out, and I have to warn you all NOW, before it is too late!

This stuff smells ABSOLUTELY UNBELIEVABLY AMAZING! The second I sprayed the stuff on my hood I was instantly overcome with an urge to begin licking the product off of my hood. It seriously smells just like Fruit Punch Kool-Aid/Crystal Lite. It's unbelievable. I couldn't help by stop and smell the paint constantly while working.

Aside from that, I was floored at the consistency and how easy it was to use. I was expecting a much thicker, and frankly, less desirable consistency like NXT Spray Wax. THIS Ultimate Quik Wax however was extremely easy to spray, spread, and work into the paint.

I know the best possible way to use it is to buff, allow to haze, and then remove, but I found it very easy to simply use a spray, spread, and buff off technique. The test will be the test of time, and seeing how it holds up. We have lots of rain in the forecast so I will be sure to keep checking back on that.

Oh, and after I did the Quick Wax, I left and within 5 minutes of leaving had a guy in a new 350Z chase me down and give me a big thumbs up. I give at least some credit to the beautiful finish

    *****************UPDATE*******************

I have uploaded a video of the UQW at work while blasting it with a hose. This is after 1 week, and 4~ days of rain here in San Diego. For those that don't know, since we don't get rain often here, when we do, it tends to be acidic ("acid rain") as it pulls the pollution out of the air. This can wreak havoc on LSPs- but apparently NOT for UQW!

    Check it out!

    *******************UPDATE NUMBER 2************

I have now uploaded a second video, which highlights my wash process and how well UQW is holding up. I checked the dates on the videos, and it was exactly 3 weeks in-between filming the first video, and the most recent video. In other words, the car has been through 2 formal washes, a few Last Touch wipe downs, several days of heavy rain and 3 weeks of sun and dust since the first application of UQW.

    Here is the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E6TVpVXzPA8

If you subscribe to my "channel" on YouTube (making a YouTube accounts takes a whole 30 seconds) then you can see updates as I plan to start posting a new video once a week, or bi-weekly starting fairly soon here.

UQW is a great product, especially because it is so easy to apply and remove.
using Tech Wax 2.0 and the UQW and UQD tag team is a deadly combo that will create a water fearing surface

Interesting indeed. Keep us posted Mark.
Licking and smelling? Sick man indeed.

I'm going to order some UQW plus other non Meguiars stuff (ie: OCW,OOS, Blackfire stuff, etc) just for the sake of satisfying my need to test stuff

I did my car a 2006 Ford Escape twice and my wifes 2004 Kia Sedona once. UQW is great stuff. High gloss , easy to use, and beads so good that if it rains you just drive around the block and your cars almost dry. I tried both ways spray ,spread, let dry , wipe off , and spray and wipe. I like the spray and wipe better. After I spray and wipe the whole car , I go over it with a clean mf towel anyhow.

I would like to try it but right now I just do not have the money.
Mike P should do a picture review and process.
Thanks for the review and information.

Hey - It also works great as a wax and shines up trim as well.

I am kind of in the same boat as CarFire. I am low on cash, and I have about 5 bottles of UQD. Is it worth getting over using UQD first.

I don't see it as an either/or, but as a "in conjunction with" type product. Although it applies virtually the same as UQD (in terms of how easy it is to use), it will add more durable protection.

I think having 1 bottle and using that immediately after washing for a booster, and then using the UQD as more of a daily/routine maintenance would be a great plan. That's what I intend to do from now on (I have a gallon of M135 and a bottle of UQD, as well as my UQW).

How and when you use UQD and UQW are quite different, and rather important.

UQD is a quick detailer mist and wipe product designed to add lubricity to the surface allowing you safely remove light dust and finger print smudges. It has the added bonus of leaving some hydrophobic polymer protection behind.

UQD is a spray wax that is exceptionally easy to use and won't stain trim, and it can even be applied in direct sunlight on a warm surface. But you do NOT want to apply it to a dusty surface, or use it to remove dust and fingerprints.
