  • Hot Shine Tire Gel Kit, peeked inside the box

    Hello everyone,

Yesterday i went to Walmart and purchased the Hot Shine Tire Gel Kit for an amazing price at $7.02. I was bored tonight so i opened up the box to see what was in it. Heres some pictures to show you the kit and the contents inside the box.

picture of the kit itself, my dog climbed up on the couch while i was taking this so i included him in the picture

    The Contents:

The bottle of Hot Shine Tire Gel also got a new labeling!!

    Before and after:

    The Foam tire applicator pad:

The foam tire swipe features the Meguiars logo on it and has a grooved side to prevent the gel from getting on your hands which is a nice feature. The foam also feels very durable and not as if it were to fall apart, it also has a little case you can stick it in bewtween uses which probably extends the life of the tool, i cannot wait to give it a try on my trucks tires, hopefully Meguiars will sell these individually. The kit itself is very convenient and you can store a bottle of tire gel and your applicator and be good to go, you will have evrything you need to dress your tires and not have to store or transport things seperately, this helps for mobile detailers i would imagine, that way its alll in one box.

    Thanks for looking

I definitely liked the applicator. Another vote for selling them separately too.

      Thanks Nick!!
      Cool Dog!!
The only problem I have run into with the applicators in general, is the sponge comes out after several uses.

Tried something like Gorilla Glue to re-stick the sponge? I used some to re-secure a pad that lost its velcro.

Thanks for the update. WalMart kicks @ when it comes to prices for Megs products. Cool dog. Older Jack Russell?

JR's are hardy little dogs, Mine is 13, but you'd never guess it from his activity level. Doesn't bounce off the fence anymore but he's always up for a game of keep away with a tennis ball.

I have a couple of those applicators and have used them for quite some time... they can be purchased seperatly just without the Meguiars logo. The applicators I have look exactly the same so I would guess the same company makes them and provides them to meguiars.

That said, I prefer an applicator without the plastic cover (the old Tire Swipes w/yellow hand hold), the plastic tends to drag on the tire making it a little more difficult to use the applicator/product. An improvement to the applicator might be a stiffer foam to prevent the plastic from dragging on the tire. Just my .02

Our Wal-Mart doesn't carry that. I was in there just the other day.
