  • Leather Cleaning

    Hey Guys,

yesterday i was talking to my next door neighbor who has a 1999 Audi Sedan. the leather seats in his car are very dull and soiled looking. He asked me if i had any Leather Cleaner he could borrow so he could make an attempt to clean all the dirt and grime and soiled look to it off the leather. But when i say dirt and grime and soiled looking i mean ten years of wear and tear with no maintenence whatsoever. So i told him i would get back to him and search through my product collection and look for a product and some sort of applicator to clean it with.

Here is what i have that works on leather

    Meguiars APC
    Quik Interior Detailer
    Meguiars Rich Leather Wipes
    Meguiars Rich Leather Spray
    Meguiars All Surface Interior brush
    Hi Tech Applicator pad

What should I give him to use that will work. I really wish i bought the Meguiars 2 step cleaner and conditioner.

    Thanks in advance

    Re: Leather Cleaning

I have found APC+ works very well... much better than a dedicated leather cleaner. I have not had that much luck with stubborn grime on leather unless I pull out the APC+. That said I would guess APC would be very similar to APC+ but I would try it out in an area thats not seen and use it mixed at the lightest cleaning ratio.

should i use the Meguiars All Surface Interior Brush on the soft bristle side or just wipe with a microfiber, not sure if i should agitate or not

I agree use a towel, terry for a little more 'bite'... for leather the brush might be a little harsh.
