Opps , forgot I posted in here. I got some pics I will put up this evening. I did use the UC with my orbital and a terry bonnet becouse I wasnt sure how agressive the UC would be on the finish. It came out pretty good I think though for not having a good polishing in 3 years.

Greg, the pictures were about the size of Texas.... as in the actual state

Can you please re-upload them in a size like 800x600 pixels?

They were so large that they were twice the size of my 22 inch monitors... enough to crash some computers

I will approve the new post once you get it up

        Thanks!

Some people will use a fresh pad for each panel, but that's often overkill. Two pads minimum, perhaps four if you have to work very aggressively.
Ok thanks. Some more question. (I'm a newbee and have not tried my new DA yet... )

Does these pads come in different sizes? It looks to big to be used on some places on the car.

I'm going to use this on a DAS DA machine (I'm in Europe). It's new and I have not used it yet. It comes with a 5" and 6" Backing plate. Will i need a new Backing plate for the W8207 Soft Buff 2.0?

Re: Ultimate Compound - Who's used it, what do you think?

Meguiar's pads come in either 6.5" diameter (W8006, W9006) or 7" diameter W8207, W9207) but other companies do make 5" and 5.5" pads.

Stick with the 5" backing plate if you use our W8006/W9006 pads, but see how well your 6" backing plate fits with our W8207/W9207 pads. Our W68DA backing plate was designed to specifically work with these new pads and it fits perfectly inside the recess on the back of these pads. You do not have to use that plate with these pads, but it is the best match.

Just picked this product up today along with swirl x. I have an 06 gto with phantom black metallic paint. It has light to moderate swirls. I first tried the swirl x; it got out about 50 percent of the swirls. When I used the ultimate compound, i got out about 75 to 80 percent of the swirls and mind you, this was all by hand. I have my g110v.2 coming via ups. Will be here on Thursday! Great job meguiars!

Re: Ultimate Compound - Who's used it, what do you think?

Just used it on my bro's '86 Cutlass Supreme with an otherise flawless custom paint job to remove some terrible bird dropping etching. Bird dropping is hell on paint, specially if it goes undetected and has time to bake in the sun like these did. Started light with SwirlX, then Scratch X with no effect. Ultimate Compound took it right out with 2 applications like it was never there and restored order. This was my first time using Ultimate Compound. I am impressed.

I attended a Meguiar's detailing class a while back. The instructor said to always start with the least agressive and work your way up. You'll find that for some defects SwirlX or ScratchX is plenty.

Very nice product, my black car like darkness them before UC.

Re: Ultimate Compound - Who's used it, what do you think?

Hi Akustic, let's see if we can figure out what's going on with your paint here.

Did Ultimate Compound remove the swirls but leave some random, deeper scratches behind, or did it just not quite remove all the swirls? These are two different things.

If the swirls are gone but just some random scratches remain, are any of them deep enough that you can feel them with your fingernail? If so, they are probably too deep to fully remove. You may be able to minimize the appearance of these deeper scratches, but removing them completely is not safe because you will remove too much clear coat in the process.

If most of the swirls are gone but some still remain, then a second pass with the Ultimate Compound should remove them. Just because a single pass of any product does not correct defects 100% does not mean the product is not effective enough for the job. It could be that you didn't buff quite long enough, or use enough pressure on the pad, etc. Before stepping up to a more aggressive product, give the first product another pass.

Of course, if you ever come across a situation where a product was used properly but it appears to have had no effect on the paint, then a more aggressive product is likely in order. But that does not sound like your situation.

                        Perfect!!! That's it.

My deeper sctatch is on coat, but i will maybe need a professional guy to remove them.
I will post a picture from this scrath latter.

                        And just one question!
with UC and DA G110, how i know the time to stop with DA and wipe off the product? How long i need wait to star another pass? like Do all car, and finish star again? or just Do 2 pass together?

If you need two passes of UC to remove all the swirls, do your first area, wipe off, and then do that same area again, or until the finish meets with your approval.
