i dont know if this has been discussed before but i could not find it through the search function. anyways, im using scratchx on my hood right now and its working fine except as i go over it with my terry towel, it leaves a streak mark behind it. its not like its leaving scratches or anything but the scratchx is trailing after i wipe. i have gone over the same spot over and over but the streak isnt dissappearing. am i doing something wrong?

Re: scratchx streak lines?
First off Welcome to Meguiars Online!!
Second of all when touching paint you should use a microfiber towel to reduce the potential of instilling scratches or swirls.
Third of all are you sure you wiped off all of the product?Joel

Re: scratchx streak lines?
yes i have used a second clean cotton terry towel and it still isnt come off. it just keeps leaving streaks after i wipe. im sure i havent used a lot of the scratchx either. it was a small drop on the terry towel. no bigger than the size of a nickel
and thanks for the welcome
*oh and about the microfiber, the back label said terry towels would be fine so i am using that*

Re: scratchx streak lines?
I just bought some and the results were kind of close to what you are describing. I did notice it did haze the finish a little. I chalked it up to Scratch X 2.0 was taking my nice surface and really cleaning it. I did not follow with a dedicated polish and seperate wax but rather just NXT 2.0.
I wish I would have really looked close at it once I was done, but certainly didn't notice it after. I imagine that a wax to top the section off or a polish then a wax will get you back to where you started.
I think it might come down to that Scratch X 2.0 works better so we might have to get out of that "passion" behind the pad that we were taught.
BTW: I was using a Meguiar's foam applicator pad and removing product with a cheaper MF towel."Difficult takes a day, impossible takes a week." Jay-Z

Re: scratchx streak lines?
Correctly used, you would apply to a small section, about a foot squared, work the product over the paint and then immediately wipe the residue off before moving on to the next small section.
If you try to apply to half the hood at one time, this is too large a section to tackle and you're going to have problems.
If you let the product dry, (it's not supposed to dry, only waxes need to dry), you're going to run into wipe-off problems.
Not sure if either of the above apply to your technique so they're posted in the spirit of trying to help troubleshoot the problem.
