Nxt 2.0 is hard to beat, esp with the proper prep work.

Re: NXT 2.0 va Gold Class

I have had both NXT and GC on my car. My favorite OTC waxes are NXT and Mother's Reflections. I love the reflections, clarity, and depth bestowed by both. Gold Class looked good but nothing special. Instead of Gold Class I would instead try out M26. But I understand that many adore Gold Class and I certainly do not criticize. Wax preferences are fundamentally subjective, idiosyncratic, and personal.

Come this spring I will be trying out several non-Meguiar's waxes on my Luthien: Fuzion, Souveran, P21S 100%, and Lusso Oro (and perhaps even Harly Wax, if I can find the time). I will be dressing my wife's car in NXT and will see how it compares to the Collinite 845 it has been wearing through the winter months. It will be interesting to see which waxes I end up liking best. I know that several of you have walked this journey and have returned to the simpler life of NXT and M26; but I have to experience it all myself. There are still a couple of other waxes I would like to add to my collection--Victoria Concours Red and Wet Obsession, but I doubt I will get them this year. Given that I have several waxes more than I need, I can't figure out a way to justify spending even more money on a wax.

If I should ever find myself flush, though, I may that day spring for Swissvax "Best of Show." It would be an extravagance, but I have yet to read a negative comment about the wax. it generates a great deal of love and affection. Anyway, I don't expect to win the lottery any time soon, so I will be and am content with my present waxes.

And yes, prep and polishing are everything. I know.

        Cheers,
        Al

Gold Class will provide deep shine that seems to darken your paint. NXT gives high quality reflection, and it leaves a slicker feel. NXT is more durable - it beads forever it seems.

The best way to find out which wax is the best for you and your car is to do just like Al is doing here and that's by spending a little coin to purchase the products that interest you and then use them first-hand.

It will be interesting in about a year to see a follow-up to this thread and see which products you end up liking the best.

I go back and forth myself.

I actually like the look and feel of Gold Class on my cars. However, because I always hear NXT 2 is the best, I use it too, especially if I think I won't have as much time to wax again the same month.

I've been using GC since I got my new truck a year ago which is black and love the results that it gives me. But the more I read about NXT 2.0 the more I itch to try it out.

I have ALWAYS used Gold class on everything I have owned. I loved it on my first car, and I never went to anything else.

NXT 2.0 give a sharper, more vibrant appearance. Like a sealant. Lasts 5-8 weeks (my experience).

Gold Class gives a deeper, wetter look. Like a carnauba wax Lasts 3-5 weeks (again, my experience).

I use NXT 2.0 10:1 over Gold Class. Easy to use and will not stain trim.....Gold Class has before.

                      Both smell awesome though!

                        NXT is a sealant.

                        Gold Class contains carnauba.

On black I prefer GC over NXT. It offers more depth and less of a sealant-silver look to my eyes.

                        NXT is more durable though.

Re: NXT 2.0 va Gold Class

i have noticed gold class leave a deeper shine on darker colors, it's my understanding the main reason is due to the fact that gold class has a lot more of the moisturizing oils then NXT.

In my experience when I take the extra time to do a pure polish step before NXT (my favorite pure polish is #81, because it requires much less effort then #7, and results look the same to me), I get the best of both worlds, the deep shine from the pores of the paint being filled to the brim with oils, and the longevity of the NXT

I know. That's why I said it looks like that. Most don't know what looks like what. Just helping out.

I find GC looks best after 47 layers, while NXT 2.0 needs only 31.*

*The statements above do not represent Meguiar's official stance on applying an LSP. In fact, they advise no more than 2 or 3 applications to ensure uniform coverage of an LSP, however, if they do adopt this approach, my belief is Meguiars might be able to single handedly end the recession.
