  • Gold Class Clear Coat Prep & Swirl Reducer

I just found a bottle of Gold Class Clear Coat Prep & Swirl Reducer that I bought a few years ago. What is the shelf life of this product and how does it compare to the professional and consumer line of swirl reducers it terms of abrasiveness? Does this product have diminishing abrasives?

    Thanks!

    Hi 305Cummins,

That product is either very similar to ScratchX or #9 Swirl Remover 2.0 Basically it was a non-abrasive cleaner/polish. I'll see what I can find out about it.

I know this is an old thread, but I'm chiming in with some of my opinon. I really think this product is rather week as a defect remover. I find that Scratch-X and #9 is more abrassive. If you notice it says its a swirl reducer, so that make me think that it hides them more than to remove them. This product is more of a pre wax cleaner like DC#1. Its a good product for cars with very light defects, but not as strong as Scratch-x or #9.

I used to have this product too. It is somewhat weak as a defect remover. It seems like #9 if it were a little more chemical in nature and a little less abrasive for the same overall cleaning ability. It's a pretty good pre-wax cleaner, though. I gave it to a co-worker who gets nice results with it.
