ColorX would be lower than the original ScratchX.

I wonder where Deep Crystal Cleaner Step 1 would fall into this list.

On the very very mild side. Below the Original ScratchX.

            Hi Mike.

I am aboun to start my first detailing job.

What confuses me is which products will produce good results by hand or by orbital polisher only (B&D KP600). I dont have high speed/rotary polisher as of the moment.

Can i use M105/205 or M83/80 with just orbital polisher or hand? or I better stick with UC/Swirlx? or all of them need a rotary polisher?

Any comments will be of great help.

            Many thanks

any updates to this list with the new products such as ultimate polish being added to the product lineup?
              thanks.

So the original Scratch X would be less aggressive than Ultimate Polish?

Seems backwards to me for some reason.

At most they would be similar.

The old ScratchX used a different type of abrasive (DAT). The newer products use SMAT abrasives, and seems like they can be made stronger, and still leave the paint looking nice.

Black paint on my 2005 model has a few defects (Swirls and some clear coat scratches) Overall very nice shape though.

Can I skip ScratchX and just Clay>UP>Wax?

You can detail however you like...

There would be nothing wrong with:
                            1. Wash
                            2. Clay
                            3. Clean - Ult. Polish
                            4. Wax

Ult. Polish is a mild cleaner, so may not remove many defects... but that only matters if you feel like removing them.

Ok. I have tried Ultimate Compound and it does not work for my situation. I know this will sound strange but I am workig on a yellow school bus. Some of the panels on the bus have a creamy white oxidation on them. Because Ultimate Compound does not work satisfactory then I assume the next best thing to try is Mirror Glaze M105 Ultra Fine Cut. Is M105 the next best item to try? Thanks for any assistance.

I wonder if Meguiar's might ever consider updating this list with more products now that so many more are available?

This was one of the most significant, and eye opening threads for me back at its time. It really helped me correct my cars.
