Hot Rims All Wheel Cleaner ~ Review

Well, in the past I have not given wheel cleaners a fair shake. I have now used 3 bottles of Megiars Hot Rims® All Wheel® Cleaner and can honesly say I have been missing out. Now if its just a light cleaning I will just use soap and water but when we are talking dirty wheels I have been trying the wheel cleaner. I have had great sucess using it on some dirty caked on wheels.

Following the instructions I apply the wheel cleaner on a wet wheel and in most cases I have been giving a little scrub with a wheel spoke brush and a wheel brush and rinse. One the front wheels I have been appling a second application inorder to reach deep into the wheel.

NOTE: Notice how dirty the wheel spoke brush is from cleaning deep into the wheels, the All Purpose Cleaner was only used on the tire and wheel wells.

Overall I have been very impressed by Hot Rims® All Wheel® Cleaner and couldn't be happier with its performance and I will continue to use it!

Looks good. Never been a fan of wheel cleaners, but from what I've been seeing on here, I'll need to pickup some.

Does Megs have a detailer line equilivent to All Wheel Cleaner?

The Detailer Line wheel cleaner is Wheel Brightener, but it is much stonger than the Consumer Line wheel cleaners.

Big Lots seems to sell the wheel cleaners a bit cheaper sometimes if one is near you.

Im no expert but I use wheel brightener 10:1 on wheels that are covered with brake dust and grime but overall not too bad and i would say the "cut" is probly about the same as all wheel cleaner. I use it 4:1 on very dirty neglected wheels and it deffinitly does the job. I find it to be a great tool because you can dilute it to the strength you need and a gallon would go a long way. But I would recomend with any potent wheel cleaner, wear a mask!

I have both the Hot Rims All Wheel Cleaner and the Hot Rims Aluminum Wheel Cleaner. I've been using the latter on my wheels and it works ok as the wheels never really get a chance to get real dirty.

Last week my son wanted to wash his Chevy Cobalt and his wheels looked like they haven't been cleaned in a year. I decided to try out the All Wheel Cleaner and I was blown away. It broke up the brake dust and dirt so that with a good rinsing with the hose they looked like a new wheels. They finished up real easy with the wheel brushes and GC Wash and conditioner.

I'm going to start using the All Wheel Cleaner on my car from now on to make cleaning the back side of the spokes less of a chore.

should i be concerned with this product if my wheels do not have clear coat. on them????

To err on caution, if those are uncoated aluminum wheels, use Meg's Hot Rims Aluminum Wheel Cleaner, it's not as aggressive as AWC and safer for your wheels.

im not sure if they are aluminum

its a 3 peice amg wheel.
when i had them refinished, the option was to clearcoat the entire wheel and rim but the reason i chose not to was because the cc can crack amongst the bolts.

i dont recall if i had the face of the wheel CC

Yeah, go with the Aluminum Wheel Cleaner.. it does a good job also.

Standard dilution ratio for Wheel Brightener is 4:1 and at that dilution it's a bit more aggressive than All Wheel Cleaner but still not as aggressive as Chrome Wheel Cleaner. Even diluted as low as 8:1 though it does an excellent job removing brake dust from painted wheels. In fact, prior to installing ceramic pads on a car that was notorious for copious amounts of brake dust, I would twice yearly pull the wheels off the car and clean them inside and out with WB at 8:1 and it did a fantastic job, without ever damaging the factory finished wheels.

But OEM wheels are not powder coated?
