  • NxT and the pad it came with.........

I have always used a good cotton pad to wax all my cars , but today when I opened the box I see this rough to the touch pad .
I can`t see ever using it, just seems wrong.
With everyone talking about towels and the newest Microfiber they use , Why use this free thing in the box?
    What am I missing?
    Many Thanks.

It's a foam hand applicator pad. Made very similar to the foam pads for machine use. The foam pads are completely safe to use and won't harm the surface. If anything ditch your cotton applicators you use and get a bunch of the foam ones. I've probably got a collection of 40 to 50 some foam applicators (the normal ones are yellow, not green and purple like the NXT one) and have never had a problem with them. They are also washable and reusable over and over again.

      Hi Show It,

I guess it's possible you received a bad applicator pad, but I have been using the foam applicator's that comes in the NXT Tech Wax box and so far all of them have been a soft, open cell foam pads, perfectly acceptable for applying polish or wax to even the most delicate clear coat surfaces.

Meguiar’s has been in business for to long to purposefully insert a poor quality applicator pad with their newest introduction to the wax market.

Perhaps you just received a bad applicator pad?

If so, it's hardly Meguiar's fault, we purchase these for inclusion with many of our products and sell thousands, if not hundreds of thousands every year.

If you inspect it, and truly feel like it is a poor quality pad, send me a PM and I'll send you a 4-pack bag of replacements.

      How's that?

Ok now that you mention it I would have to admit that the special NXT purple and green pad I got with my bottle of nxt was maybe a little tiny bit rougher than the yellow meguiars pads. Although once I started using it it seemed more normal.
-trip to garage to inspect required-
Ok, yeah actually the green and purple pad is noticably more rough than the yellow pads. Probably not enough to cause any problems. I used the nxt pad to apply nxt wax to my car and the visable swirls went down so I wouldn't think it would be a problem. Still, might be worth investigaging Mike.

quick question...how do you clean your pads after use?

I've had mixed results when cleaning these pads. Sometimes they come out pretty clean and other times they seem to just stay gunked up with product. The later could be contributed to me using to much wax or polish.
