  • NXT Tech Protectant

Used NXT Tech Protectant on all plastic, vinyl parts of my 1991 Jetta GL + used it on my black bumpers. Brought everything back to life!

One question: 3 days have passed since I applied NXT protectant on my car. I also have NXT Car Wash - If I wash my car with it (I power-wash my car) will the NXT protectant substance come off my bumpers?

Just to know whether to apply or not NXT Protectant on my bumpers each time I wash my car.

sometimes it will and some times it won't. you'll have to try and judge than, but chances are for the out side you'll have to reapply more often.

I was told by one of our chemists that NXT Tech Protectant is our longest lasting, best protecting protectant and that it is water insoluble.

Not to knock the protectant (because I do love it) but at the first sign of rain or water it comes off & streaks down on your paint. I use it on my black plastic grille, trim, rubber rain gutter strips, etc. It gives it a great wet shine, but for me doesn't seem to last as long as GC trim detailer, which I can't find locally anymore.

I'll check into this, it doesn't rain much around here but I'll see what I can find out.

The GC Trim Detailer is hard to find, best bet is to order from Customer Care. You can also try the M-3832 Tire & Trim Dressing Gel, similar product but in the Professional Line.

Cool, let me know what "your people" say To me the NXT is more water based making it easy to apply and get an even coat whereas the GC is like a cream which is a bit harder to apply, but lasts a little longer.

I used NXT Tech Protectant on all of my black exterior trim and have never noticd a problem with it running. It rains fairly often up here and it has held up pretty well so far (About 2 weeks now).

                    Scarcity of GC trim detailer

If you don't mind my asking why is the GC Trim Detailer so hard to find? I love that stuff, but it's never on the shelf at Advance or Auto Zone, or any of the other retailers that handle car care products. Ordering from Megs is OK, but shipping costs are not negligble.

                      Hey,

I have found that the best way to prevent streaking is to make sure that the any excess product has been wiped off.

I apply it with a foam applicator. I then leave the protectant on for about 5 minutes. I then wipe off thoroughly with a clean/dedicated MF towel. It will not remove the shine but rather only the excess.
