Re: New Product - Headlight & Clear Plastic Restoration Kit

Is this one of the first 3M - Meguiar's great products to come? I noticed 3M has something very similar to this out already.

PPPSSSSS (quietly) I would rather buy Meguiar's packaging but that's just me.

There is a guy at my work that is the perfect customer for this. His mechanic wanted to charge him $60 to do the work. I mentioned PlastX to him. But, I just emailed him a link to this thread.

I'd certainly be interested in the polishing pad.

Def picking this up for our 98 accords lights. 1998, 210,000 miles, its a wonder that light actually emits from the headlights. This seems easier than sanding and polishing with a rotary.

It would be fun to compare this kit with the wet-sanding and PlastX method!

I guess this kit is easier, and works almost as well.

I look forward to buying it!

Re: New Product - Headlight & Clear Plastic Restoration Kit

I saw this kit a few days ago at my local Checker and it seems nice. I don't have any really bad headlights to justify the purchase and price (I do have a bottle of Plastix though).

The only thing that struck me was the placement of this product in the store. It was NOT with the detailing supplies and was just on the end of the lighting isle. So a heads up in case everyone goes looking for it. I want to say it was the expected $24.99 and if not it was around that price.

The kit looks nice but my trucks headlights will require wet sanding, it's to late for this new product.....

i honestly will give it a shot on my fog lights. there dont need it, but i used the 3m headlight kit on the headlights and they look like new. it did require some wet sanding though. i did however use plastix and scratch-x on my taillights, and they look like new now too.

I actually can't wait for this product to be released. I want to try it out on the tail light section of my Impala. If your unfamiliar with how large of an area they take up here is a photo, only my entire back panel is red.

This one pictured here actually has sport covers on it.

What is the maximum rpm that should be used with this pad/plastx?

I'm wondering if it would be ok to use this with a die grinder instead of a drill. I think 20,000 rpm might be a problem.

wow thats awesome! G owners must be so happy. Everytime I detail one, they always ask me to take a look at the lights.

I am excited to try out this kit once it hits shelves in Canada.
