I'm having issues waxing my car. I wash my car either in complete shade or at sunset using Eagle One Nano wash with a wool mit. The only time I've waxed my car I did it inside my garage on a day that wasn't really humid at all or hot. I used the Eagle One wax which I've heard pretty good things about and did exactly as the bottle says. After I finished it looked pretty good, not as good as I expected but it barely felt as though it had been waxed. After a day, it already felt like the wax was gone and it hadn't even rained. I don't know if it's something I'm doing wrong but now I bought the whole Deep Crystal kit, all three stages, and I gave that a shot on one of my mirrors. I had just washed the car and the mirror is made out of carbon fiber with either a gel-coat or a clear coat. I did exactly as the instructions said with all three stages and let the wax set and used the swipe test and the mirror felt like it had been waxed for only about a day. I don't see what I'm doing wrong. Any help?

Re: So i'm a noob and...
One thing I'd say to do regardless of any other issue or not, is get Meguiar's Smooth Surface clay kit! That will clear off all the above surface contaminants and allow the other products to work better and allow the final step, wax, to adhere properly.
You have a solid regimen with the Deep Crystal 3 step system, so you should get good results. Make sure you use plenty of really good microfiber towels to buff everything off.
Also, are you sure it's just not getting dusty after a couple days? You could try Meguiar's Quick Detailer or Ultimate Quick Detailer, to get the dust off as needed with a couple towels and the detailer, and it will surprise you how you feel and see that beautiful show car shine again.
You're on the right track that you are working to take care of your car. It will appreciate it!

Re: So i'm a noob and...
It's a 2004 Honda S2000, the first owner maintained it garage kept and detailed since he purchased it, the second owner kept it under a factory car cover and under a car port, and I keep it garaged. It's definately not just dusty, it just doesn't feel like I ever waxed it. The coats I used are decent in how heavy they are but they're not very thick at all. Are you supposed to rub the wax into the paint or just apply it because I don't rub it in, i just put it on.

How did it feel after doing the cleaning stage (DC#1)? Still kind of rough?
Probably are going to need to do some claying if it has never been waxed before. That will get the bonded on contaminants off, as cleaners will tend not to get those kind of things off.2017 Subaru WRX Premium - WR Blue

Re: So i'm a noob and...
the first owner use to get it waxed and it stayed waxed. when i bought the car from the second owner you could tell it had been waxed because it had that silky feel to it. I haven't done the deep crystal treatment yet, it's not that it feels rough. after the last time i waxed it with the eagle one stuff, which was also MY first time waxing the car, it didn't maintain that silky feeling for more then a day.
