  • How to machine wash those products

    I have dirty:
    -supreme shine towels
    -water magnet towel
    -even coat microfiber applicator pads
-the purple pad comes with the nxt 2.0

Can I machine wash all of them together? what kind of wash should I choose, I don't want to ruin it, I was one heck of a task getting meg's products to Israel

    CorradoT5,

A few questions for you. What are the supreme shine towels and the even coat applicator pads dirty with? Was the water magnet just used to dry off your car? If the supreme shine towels and even coat apllicator pads are dirty with wax/polish I would wash them together with a good liquid clothes detergent with a hot water cycle, no fabric softener, and some white vinager in the fabric softener dispenser in the washing machine. Your water magnet towel I would wash just the same as I described for the other micro fiber towels but seperate from them as not to contaminate them with wax residue. You will find that NXT 2.0 is very hard to remove from the pad washing normally. I have washed mine in a bucket of hot water with dawn dish soap and have gotten about 75-80% of it out. Remember to rinse the NXT2.0 purple pad out very very good before you let it dry. Hope this helps.

Maybe presoaked them 1st in different buckets with warm water and good detergent (fluid; for clothes not dawn - too bubbly) for few hours. Then throw then in the washer. For things contaminated with waxes/sealants, i've separate them from the rest (just incase; avoid cross contamination).

Reason being, polishes and compounds rinses quite easily with water but not easily so with waxes and/or sealants.

If memory serves me right - previous threads related to this topic shows that guys at Megs just dump them all in the washer (dont spank me)

If you pretreat them I have not had any problem with washing all Microfiber products together. Separate load for terry towels, micro's etc.

Because your applicator pads tend to be saturated with chemicals, some that are not water soluble, (car wax for example), in a perfect world you would not wash them with your drying towels but instead wash them separately.

You can wash the wax applicator pads in the sink by themselves and do a better job of cleaning the gunk inside of them out because you can use your hands to squish and squeeze them under running water and force the residue out. Last I checked a washing machine doesn't have little hands that come out and grab applicator pads and squish them so they just get bounced around during the washing process and while this will clean some of the residue out your hands squishing them under warm/hot water with some dish soap will do a better job.

Quick question.... are there any auto parts stores in Israel to just get new applicator pad?

Another option would be to rinse & squish the applicator pads by hand under running water and after getting as much residue out of them as possible then wash them in a washing machine.

If you wash them together you could contaminate your drying cloths with non-water soluble ingredients and potentially make them less willing to quickly absorb water but they still would absorb water.

Just depends upon how far you want to take it. Kind of hard to justify making a wash load with a few drying towels and hard to justify making a dedicated wash load with only a few hand applicator pads.

Now if you have lots of each then it's easier to make dedicated loads.

People often ask us in our Saturday class how many microfibers then need when detailing their car, we always tell them that it's not really how many towels you need to detail car it's more about how many towels do you need to justify making a dedicated washing load with nothing but microfiber polishing cloths in it and a small load for us is about 12 to 20 polishing cloths.

          Make sense?

(Don't know about you but my wife usually won't let me wash just 1-5 things in a wash load)
