  • Pad for NXT??

Mike...I used a Lake Country finishing pad to apply my NXT, I just noticed that you recommended using a Megs polishing pad to kytown2 in this thread.

I don't know if there are any major differences between the Megs pads and the LC ones, but would you suggest using a polishing pad instead of a finishing pad for NXT?

Perhaps using a finishing pad is what gave me my application issue? Since you've used NXT far more than all of us here combined could you give us your thoughts?

    Pad

Judging from all the pics from Mike Phillips and all the workshops given... it looks the Megs yellow polish pad is the best way to apply NXT.

The finish pad is great for final glaze work. I've used them with Megs Hand Polish for a flawless shine with depth.

Mike can elaborate on why the polish pad is used as opposed to a finish pad, but I assume it's to assist in the removal/hiding the light cobwebs that may have been left after minor polish work, but that's my guess.

Anyway, go with the polish pad at this point.

      Hi Don,

      Here's the skinny,

The w-8006 polishing pad seams to me, to be the best foam formula for applying not only the NXT Tech Wax, but also multiple other products. It would seem this particular foam formula addresses all of the needs & wants of the end user as far as application and removal of light surface defects in conjunction with your choice of product, (or chemical).

Note how I chose my words above carefully. I said, "It would seem this particular foam formula addresses all of the needs & wants of the end user as far as application and removal of light surface defects in conjunction with your choice of product, (or chemical)."

By this I mean not only does the W-8006 pad work excellent with the #83 DACP to remove defects, it also works excellent to apply waxes like the new Tech Wax.

The W-8006 foam polishing pad is a very versatile foam pad.

As to how it compares to any foam pad offered by Lake Country, I do not know.

      Hope this helps...
