    1. Maybe. It depends on how bad the car is. If there are a large amount of bonded contaminants on the vehicle then the clay bar will get dirty fast. Just keep folding and pressing until the clay bar is "loaded" with contaminants. When/if the clay bar is no longer white then you'll know to toss it.

    2. No need to clean it. Just keep folding and use clean portion of claybar until there is no more clean area on the claybar.

    3. You can do the entire vehicle. Even glass.

    4. Clay-->ScratchX-->NXT 2.0. Get the bonded stuff off first then wax.

    Good luck and have fun!

      1. Yes, you can use the clay bar on different vehicles
      2. You can't clean the clay bar. Once is too contaminated then it's time to throw it away. When you are working you will have to continuously fold the clay to get a nice clean part.
      3. Yes you can. The hole bar that the Smooth Surface Clay kit brings can tackle more than one car, but this all depends on how much contamination are you pulling from the surface. Some cars are so contaminated that you use the hole clay bar, some are not that contaminated and you can reuse it. Best thing to do it when you have your clay bar, cut it in two parts, one part you use it and the other one you can save it for a next time. Read this Meguiar's clay system: proper size of clay bar?
      4. Your process will look like this Wash, Clay, ScratchX, Wax

        Here you go.

        1. Depends on how much bonded contaminants are removed.

        2. Just rework the clay or knead it to it looks clean
        3. yes do the whole car, even the glass. (you will be surprised at the contaminants removed from the glass.)

        4.Wash, clay, scratch-x, wax, nxt 2.0

        There you go.
        quality creates its own demand

          1. Yes
          2. Knead the clay until it is white again. Once you do an area and it gets dirty, knead it again. You can never knead it too much.
          3. I'd only use the clay on painted surfaces, glass or chrome. Don't use it on the black plastic moldings that are found on cars.
          4. Wash, Clay, ScratchX, Wax

And last but not least, take before and after pictures
If its fast, loud, and runs on a flammable liquid...count me in.

Re: Meguiar's Smooth Surface Clay Kit...Info Please

I've been a clay fan for years. I typically clay my personal cars once or twice a year when I do a full detail. I take the clay bar and cut it in two pieces. I put the unused piece back into the plastic box (you can use a baggie if you don't have a box). If I drop a piece of clay I toss it and grab the unused piece.

After washing the car, I clay the vertical surfaces first. The horizontal surfaces get the most contamination so I do them next. I then do the rocker panels and move on to the glass. Finally I clay the wheels and the exhaust tips and then I toss that piece of clay. I typically do two vehicles from one clay bar but these vehicles are pretty clean.

There are a couple good youtube vids of the process you can search out. The clay kits are so inexpensive (around $12-16) that it just doesn't make sense to try to overuse a clay bar.

I clay a small 2'x2' area at a time using lots of the supplied lube. I gently feel the lubed surface with my fingertips to see that I have removed the contamination then wipe dry with a MF towel and move on.

The process order is wash, clay, polish then wax.

                    The questions is:
1)the clay bar it's reusable? I take one bar and break it into 2 pieces, I have used 1 piece on 3 cars before I dedicated to wheel use. The 3 cars I used it on were in pretty good shape to begin with.
2)how to clean it? Just keep folding the clay as you use it. If you do a search on You Tube there are a few videos
3)can i treat the whole car(bumper hood roof door etc), or only hood and roof? I do all painted areas, glass, wheels and exhaust tips. DO NOT use the same peice on paint as you do other parts of the car. I have one for Paint, one for glass, one for wheels and exhaust tips
4)is this procedure correct? "ScratchX -> Clay -> wax (nxt2.0)... Wash, clay, scratch x, wax

The Smooth Surface Clay isnt sold on its own.

You would have to buy the C-2000 Mild Blue Clay on its own.
