  • I just bought 14 Meguiar's products, I need to know how to use

I will be using those products in a 2008 car (about 6 months of use), car color is black metalic.

list of Meguiar's products I got:
Gold Class Car Wash Shampoo & Conditioner
    Gold Class Liquid Wax
    Endurance High Gloss
    Quik Interior Detailer
    Quik Detailer
    PlastX
    ScratchX
    Microfiber Wash Mitt
    Foam Applicator Pad
    2-50grm Clay Bars
    1 Microfiber Towel
Meguiar's X2000 Water Magnet Drying Towel
    Meguiar's G-12718 NXT Generation Tech Wax 2.0 (18-Ounce Liquid)
    Meguiar's X2020 Supreme Shine Microfiber - Pack of 3
I will make questions and number them, so if possible when answering number the replies too.

1 - Is 1x 50grm Clay Bar enough for 1 car? I mean can I clean the whole car using 1x 50grm Clay Bar?
2 - Confirm this please and let me know if I can improve: I wash the car with the Gold Class Car Wash Shampoo & Conditioner + Microfiber Wash Mitt, then I dry it using the Meguiar's X2000 Water Magnet Drying Towel. Once the car is dry I use the 50grm Clay Bar + Quick Detailer on the whole car, finally I wax it.
3 - Which wax should I use first: Gold Class Liquid Wax or Meguiar's G-12718 NXT Generation Tech Wax 2.0 (18-Ounce Liquid)? I put the wax in the car painting with the Foam Applicator Pad, then I wait like 30 minutes and I remove it using Meguiar's X2020 Supreme Shine Microfiber, right?
4 - How much Gold Class Car Wash Shampoo & Conditioner for 10 liters of water?
5 - What should I use to put the Endurance High Gloss in the tires? What about Quik Interior Detailer? and about PlastX? and about ScratchX? Like a ordinary chamois is fine?
6 - What's the diferent between PlastX and Quik Interior Detailer? Should I use both at the same time inside the car?
7 - When waxing a car like I posted, how much wax should I spend (how many ml)?

I got more doubts but I don't remember now, I will post them here as soon as I remember them

    ty all guys

Re: I just bought 14 Meguiar's products, I need to know how to use

You only need to use the NXT wax. I'm not sure if the gold class or NXT is better, but NXT seems to be the standard around here. For waxing only put a small dab of wax on the pad and do one panel of the car at a time. You should probably only use the size of about 8 US Quarters for the entire car. At least I do. Remove with microfiber after about 15 minutes, if you want you can wait longer, but it doesn't matter.

For the high endurance gloss, you can buy curved pads for spreading product on tires.

Quick Interior Detailer, just spray on and wipe off with microfiber.

ScratchX, apply with foam pad and work with passion (search for it on these forums), or apply with a microfiber for more "cut". Probably the same idea for the PlastX

What i know the difference between gold class and NXT is that NXT lasts longer. Gold class is marvelous for black and red to get the show car shine. Please correct me if i am wrong.

        Hello and welcome to mol.

        1. yes
        2. yes
3.Either one. It is always recommended two thin coats are best.
4.1 ounce of shampoo per gallon of water.
5.I like applying it by using a paint brush.
6.Plat-x is for scratch removal. Qid is for light cleaning.
        7. Always apply a thin coat.

In the future try to limit your questions to three(3). Its much easier on all of us this way.

1 - Is 1x 50grm Clay Bar enough for 1 car? I mean can I clean the whole car using 1x 50grm Clay Bar? Yes and then some, if you got the smooth kit, I break each bar into 2 peices, 1 for paint, 1 for windows, 1 for wheels and have one extra

Yes, I like to clean my wheels and wheel wells first, then start the car from top to bottom, after it is dry start from top to bottom again with clya, spray a small section with quick detail clay, wipe clean after you are done with the paint you can also clay windows and wheels, you listed you have scratch X? so I guess you have a few scratches? Use scratch X when done with it you wax

I would choose one or the other, if you want do half the hood withNXT the other half with Gold Class after you buff it off see if there is a difference. I have never used Gold CLass I can not compare but I really really like NXT. Use a just s mall amount on the foam pad, spread wax a section at a time. When car is done wait 30 minutes give the wax the "swipe" test (search Mike has posted about this many times), after it passes then buff the wax off with the MF towel.

4 - How much Gold Class Car Wash Shampoo & Conditioner for 10 liters of water? Never used it so I can not help but the directions should be on the label

5 - What should I use to put the Endurance High Gloss in the tires? What about Quik Interior Detailer? and about PlastX? and about ScratchX? Like a ordinary chamois is fine? Tire gel I like to use a foam applicator for tires I got mine from Autozone for $0.99, Quick detailer I use a MF towel, PlastX and ScratchX a Meg foam applicator

6 - What's the diferent between PlastX and Quik Interior Detailer? Should I use both at the same time inside the car? 2 Totally differnt products. PlastX is made to polish out plastics like your headlights, help get rid of the "yellow" film that some get and leaves a protectant behind. Quick Inerior Detailer is used to clean and protect your interior (dash, door panel, console).

7 - When waxing a car like I posted, how much wax should I spend (how many ml)? I never really measured but I have used my NXT 4x and it barely feels as if any is missing. Just apply thin

            ty for the answers guys,

I just washed my car today with the Gold Class Car Wash Shampoo & Conditioner and the Microfiber Wash Mitt. I was amazed how good these 2 products are comparing to what I'd used before.
I put 60 ml of the car wash for 7.5 liters of water, I finished washing and they were a lot of shampoo so I washed my mom's car as well, and there were still shampoo. I am saving what's left (mixed with water) to wash another car tomorrow morning, do you guys think that's a good idea?
How much shampoo and how much water you guys spend to wash 1 car? Cause next time I will definitively use less shampoo.

Are tyou using 2 buckets to wash the car? Using a grit guard? If not then the water will have dirt in it and you can get dirt from the water in your wash mit and actually scratch your car. I always use the 2 bucket method to wash. 1 buck with shampoo and water, one with grit guard and just plain water to rinse the mit in before puttin it in the bucket with the shampoo.

Depends on how much gunk and contaminants are on the finish, being a new car a single 50 gram bar of detailing clay should be more than enough. Now if you had job where you parked your car at the end of the LAX Airport than you car's finish would get so contaminated in just a short time that you would probably go through more clay.

Point being how fast your clay becomes to full of contaminants to be used any longer depends upon how dirty the paint is with contaminants.

                Make sense?

Correct. Wipe the claying residue off the paint as you finish claying a section and then continue around the car.

You only need to use one type of wax. If you like, apply one to one half of the hood and the other to the other half of the hood. Let each application of wax completely dry and then remove. Now inspect the results and go with the wax that you liked applying and removing the most and which makes your paint look best in your eyes.

How To Measure Car Wash to Water Ratio?

1 ounce is somewhere between 2-3 cupfuls. It's hard to measure this way because of the thick viscosity of the product that some of the product clings to the inside of the cap so that when you go to add more to a cap if you're measuring by cupfuls then you don't measure enough product.

What I do is measure how much water I'm going to use as a routine in my life, and then mark a Dixie cup to the appropriate level and fill the Dixie cup to this level.

Start by reading the descriptions for the products and they are nothing alike, PlastX is a plastic polish that contains a diminishing abrasive to remove scratches and oxidation off generally exterior plastics and QID is a liquid duster for removing finger prints and smudges of of interior components. Both are great products.

                An ample amount.

Use enough wax to lay down a thin, even coat.

Re: I just bought 14 Meguiar's products, I need to know how to use

Somewhere in there you asked if there was anything else to do. Now, this is based on my own interpretation and I'm sure someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

I would add paint cleaner and polish to your steps. I wash, dry, clay, cleaner, polish, then wax. I believe the clay will help remove particles from your paint (like tree sap for instance), then the cleaner will help remove residue (like old wax). Once you've removed everything from the surface, the polish "feeds" the paint, then the wax protects it.

For what it's worth, I prefer Gold Class wax on my car (Electric Green Mustang)-I think it pops more (but I also haven't tried the newest forumlation of NXT). I use NXT on my yellow DD though, becuase it does seem to last longer, and yellow doesn't have the depth that my Mustang's paint does.
