  • Car care in drought conditions

    Like the title says...

In parts of the southeast, we've had no lawn watering, minimal car washing for a while now. Recently its rained, so we're maybe 16 inches behind here in Georgia. So I washed my year old civic and "waxed" with NXT liquid.

Checked Meguiars website for some tips, and yeow...an entire world of car finishing.

So a question for you experts. My year old Civic's paint has been "neglected" due to water restrictions. No wash, no wax till recently. I have a window where I can wash and wax without restriction. It is still smooth and shiny, with a few nicks in the front, and a few specks of ?organic? matter that eventually came off with Meg Deep Crystal Car Wash.

My goal is maximum protection of the finish. I have one coat of NXT on now. What do you recommend next, and how about the future when a good citizen may not be able to wash very often

    TIA

Look into a product called ONR - Optimum No Rinse.

A lot of us wish Meguiars would make some kind of product like that or a dry wash.

Thanks Aerocleanse, I'll check that out.

I wonder if Ultimate Detailer could be used as a waterless cleaner?

Also I see my NXT is 1.0. If 2.0 really is more durable, I'll give that a try.

Not safely. ONR works really good for that.

Also if you can't find any ONR give Detailers Pride 4in1 rinseless was a go. DP is pretty much on par performance wise and versatility as ONR.

And yes as others have suggested Meguiars please make a rinseless wash.

I think Meguiar's should make one as well. And actually they do overseas. It includes Last touch, MF towels, and a duster. Look on youtube for the video.

I think ONR does a great job when your going to do alot of other work to the car it does speed up drying. Personally, I bought ONR for the winter mos because I got sick of turning my driveway into a skating rink.
