  • MEGUIARS to the rescue.

alright this is more of a thank you! than anything else.

today i bought 3 wax products to "try" and compare vs. #26 which i use religiously.

2.0 (tried it, loved it, ran out)
Black magic wax (smelled good, on closeout at walmart)
Performance wax 3M (standard, but new)

i tried a test spot on the corner of my hood, taped each off and made 4 3x3" boxes 1- #26 2- 2.0 3-Blackmagic 4-3M

they all gave a nice deep gloss,
    though 2.0 seemed the deepest,
whereas black magic gave my car a darker red which i thought was going to be good for this occasion.
they all seemed to be easy to remove,
3m gave a nice feel but somewhat of a haze
3m also removed a small bit of my single stage aftermarket paint
    #26 worked well as usual.

i decided to use the black magic to make my car more of a deep red.
after buffing the front end (hood, front bumper, fenders) i let it sit for the 15 minutes as directed then when i tried to take it off, it greased and smeared like trying to remove grease from glass. i thought what in the world? so i let it sit longer
10 minutes to be exacttried taking it off again. same result. being totally at a loss, i tried hand removal, tried my (mini buffer - battery powered) still same thing. i decided to grab my favorite product now (2.0) put it over top of the black magic and let it dry well. it removed it perfectly with no streaking stoked, i finished the car with 2.0 and remembered why i bought it in the first place last november.

sorry for forsaking my beloved meguiars with black magic and other products. never again, i gave all the other **** away to my friend the closet where they will sit until i use them on someone elses car(my parents) as a basecoat wax, or polish to put a thick coat on the front bumpers and lower portions.

    thanks again guys!

ill post up a photoshoot when i get time on sunday and clean it up with UQD.

    That's great, man.

I love it when products like Tech Wax 2.0 correct what other products leave behind.

Glad to see it worked out for you.
