    Thanks for the extra info! I have some serious reading to do this weekend. Gotta make sure I do things right, this car has to last me for a good amount of time (not alot of money in going to graduate school), and I'd rather it look pretty nice while lasting.

      I've been doing some more reading.

      From what I've read, clay bar treatments may only remove the top part of the metal particle, not the entire thing, and the only way to completely remove it is an acid wash..

        I have not seen a car where it is that severe that an acid wash is needed.... I don't plan to acid wash anything if I dont have to.
