If you're using ScratchX to remove defects and prepare the paint for wax then you don't need to use a cleaner/wax you can go straight to either Gold Class Wax or NXT Tech Wax.

You're not working on a silver paint you're working on clear paint so the goal is to make the clear as clear as possible and as smooth as possible as gloss comes from smoothness.

It can be, depending on your goals. ScratchX would be the cleaner to remove swirls, but if you just wanted to quickly finish up after using ScratchX, a cleaner/wax like ColorX would work fine, or just go to a regular wax like Mike said.

You could also go to a polish and wax after ScratchX if you wanted, and had the time for more steps.

ColorX is a very popular cleaner/wax, many people will do a quick detail like this:

          1. Wash
          2. Clay if needed
          3. ColorX
          4. Wax

            ColorX is a cleaner/wax
            ScratchX is a paint cleaner

These two products are in different "Categories" of product, they will both clean paint and ColorX will also leave behind protection.

If you have not read Meguiar's 5-Step Paint Care Cycle then take a moment to read it as it explains the different steps and thus the different "Categories" of product that match the steps.

It's not that you can't do it but if you do a good job using ScratchX the first time there's not need to use ColorX before Gold Class or NXT. There could be exceptions to this depending upon what you're doing.

Post us the link and we'll take a look at what they're saying.

If you haven't read the 5-Step Paint Care Cycle it's still a good idea to read it regardless of this recommendation on the Italian site.

                Thanks,

an this teh article in italian language
If you want, i can translate
