  • Meg's ultimate detailer

    Hello everyone,

Just finished detailed my ride with #83, #82 and #16 as LSP.

Was thinking of using a spray product to boost protection and shine in between weekly washes, would ultimate detailer fit the bill?

    Thanks.

Yes with this caveat... UQD is a quick detailer, note the spelling of quick detailer as quick detailers are a category of products referred to as "Mist & Wipe" products, that is you mist the product on and then spread the product around and then wipe the residue off with the idea being to remove light dust, fingerprints and smudges.

Now we make a number of quick detailers and one of them is named Quik Detailer, so it has the same name as a generic name used to describe a category of products but note the spelling of the word quick and quik.

Ultimate Quik Detailer is a "Mist & Wipe" product, not a spray-on wax or a spray-on sealant. It is a blend of different types of polymers, now many and what they are Meguiar's is not going to post to a public forum as that's proprietary information. This formula does offer some protection against attack and deterioration but again it is primarily a mist and wipe product for removing light dust, fingerprints and smudges, not a spray on wax or a spray on sealant. We want you to love this product just like you like our other product but we don't want you or anyone to have unreal expectation for it. We like to under-promise and overdeliver.

We do make spray-on protection products, these would be Quik Wax and NXT Spray Wax.

I'll step out on a limb here and suggest that if you can afford 83, #82 and #16 for your ride, (probably applied by machine), then you can easily step out on a limb and spend the $10.00 to test out UQD and keep your receipt so should you find you don't like it for an Ultimate quick detailer, (not the wording), then you can always take advantage of Meguiar's Satisfaction Guarantee and return the unused portion to the store in which you purchased it for a refund.

At most of the Saturday classes here at Meguiar's, I'll ask with a show of hands how many people have tried this product and out of the hands that go up, (there's always a bunch), I'll ask how many people after trying it like it and the same hands stay up.

      What are you working on?

posts like the one above make me even more appreciate megs products, they work better than anything ive ever used, they are simple, with great instructions, have great people working that are more than ready to give advice, and they have a satisfaction garantee! What more can you ask for? Thanks Meguiars!

          Re: Meg's ultimate detailer

I use both Ultimate Quick Detailer and NXT Spray Wax. After a wash, I'll use the Spray Wax. To clean up and light dust or to perk up the finish when I get to a show/cruise, I'll use the Ultimate Quick Detailer.

Both work great if you even just apply to the front of a car when you gotta hit the highway. Bugs have a hard time sticking.

The Ultimate Quick detailer with Hydrophobic Technology works great. Cost efficient and provides stunning results. You can get it over the counter too which is great.

so how long does it take you to UQD for a show/cruise? do you do it before you leave home, before the cruise leaves, or at the show?
