Re: NXT 2.0 with NXT 1.0 Label

Glad to hear. Thanks for your help. And by the shine on my New f150 truck, I can see why the NXT 2.0 is going to be a big hit with customers. Its oxford white with peublo gold two toned clearcoat. Who says you can't make white glow!!! RIP Turtle Wax Ice!!!!!

Impressive customer service I must say, not every day I see that. And if you have used NXT 1.0 you will notice how much easier NXT 2.0 is to both apply and remove and the slickness lasts alot longer too.

Glad to see that Meg's takes pride in correcting this issue and even following up with us to let us know of the outcome. Mike, glad to see that you are not only tracking this down from this thread, but you're keeping us informed!

Re: NXT 2.0 with NXT 1.0 Label

Sorry guys, I'm a big Meg's supporter, but Michelle's answer does NOT sit well with me. Okay, so you say it is 2.0 with a 1.0 label, but how does the consumer really know this to be true?

I can accept that it was a simple mistake and I believe (from what I've seen on this site that Meg's customer service is second to none), but this is still a bad mistake and Michelle's response is wholly inadequate.

I'm thinking (and hoping) that there are other immeliorative measures taken that are happening behind the scenes.

The original Tech Wax labels were used by mistake on 2.0 bottles....However, we can assure you that any Tech Wax in a 2.0 box, definitely contains 2.0 liquid regardless of the label on the bottle. Corrective action has been taken, and we do apologize for the confusion.

We want you to know that using incorrect labels to "run inventory down" is not practiced here at Meguiar's. A was a simple mistake that was made.

            We hope you understand.

It just sounds to me like someone in production dropped the ball and perhaps Michelle was led to believe the "use up the old stock" theory was correct...hey, she's in Canada, just a bit separate from the main office, and we all know how easily bad information travels (look at some of the garbage passed along as fact on other detailing boards).

It only took Mike Pennington 3 days to go from Chris' end-user complaint to getting all of us the correct information, which was that Chris DOES have the 2.0 and initiated a corrective action. Impressive actually.

I would be willing to bet my paycheck that if Mike had discovered Chris had actually purchased 1.0 being passed off as 2.0, not only would a public apology have been made (which they did), but that he would be receiving an apology in the form of a goodie basket or a gift certificate worth a bit more than the cost of a bottle of 2.0 (I've seen it done). Megs seems to take the position that: "You trusted us, we didn't come through, let us make it up to you."

Even looking at the incident from a purely business standpoint, which, if past instances where something has gone wrong concerning their products, Meguiars does not, a price cannot be put on reputation. Once a company loses it's reputation, its pretty much downhill from there. Megs has been around for over 100 years, they must be doing something right.

I went to a "different than the nearest Walmart" today and I saw the same thing Chris spoke of. It was NXT 2.0 (black top bottle) with a NXT original label. I can't remember the price, but it was much more than the original right beside it. The original (1.0) had the green cap.

Re: NXT 2.0 with NXT 1.0 Label

Sorry.. thought i'd revive this thread, as I ran myself silly today trying to get a bottle of NXT 2.0...

Hey Meguiar's people: Just a thought - How about sending a note to the retailers so they can put up a notice at the point of sale? it would have prevented me from returning my bottle, and wasting a whole afternoon (and half a tank of gas) running around trying to get a bottle of 2.0...
