Someone said you have to let NXT cure for 20-30 mins and that you have to wait 12 hours before applying the second coat.
Is there any truth to any of this
thanks
The best way (for me anyway) to understand this is: when you apply the sealant it hazes over in 20-30 minutes. It is not cured, it is just ready to be wiped down. Curing is like a hardening of the coating. Crosslinking of the polymer strands. This process can take up to 12 hours. It is best not to disturb the coating while it is curing as this might compromise part of the protection.
It's kind of like fresh paint. It is applied, skins over and hardens but it is not fully cured. If you tried to polish paint that has not cured enough you would make a mess of your coating of paint.
The process where you apply a second coating of sealant immediately after the first would not harm the curing process as it has just started and is still not set, just as you can spray a thin second coat of paint over a still tacky first coat. You might be more confident you have not missed any spots and might even out the application some.
