  • Nxt 2.0 questions

Hi all, am new in this forum

Got a couple questions, what's the diference or advantages between the same wax in paste or liquid?? What's better??

And second question i gonna wax a new car with Nxt 2.0, will do it straight as i get it of the maker, what treatment should i do to the car prior to the waxing?? I was thinking on washing it with Nxt Soap, then use the clay bar, then some sealant and finally the 2.0 wax, am i missing some step for a new car?? I doubt cos i don't know if the new car will have some treatment on it that i should remove before i treat it with Meguiars products.

Thanks a lot for your help.

    Re: Nxt 2.0 questions

with a wax like NXT 2.0 the difference in a paste and liquid is basically prefrence, they are both equally as good in duribility, and protection. For a new car you will want to do the basic wash and claybar to remove and contaminents that may have bonded to the paint prior to you purchasing it. Claybaring will also remove anything currently on the car (wax or sealant ). The only other thing i would add is a pure polish before the wax. Thats just my prefrence because i love the way a pure polish deepend the color of the car. You should not have to use a paint cleaner on it considering its a new car but inspect the paint just to be sure.

I agree with Derrickg32069's assessment, but want to point out that technically NXT2.0 is a sealant. After you wash, clay and optionally polish your new car, go straight to the NXT2.0 and give it two thin coats.

So what is this new car? When do you get it?

        Re: Nxt 2.0 questions

Getting ready for tonights "Open Garage", so can't spend a lot of time typing, but here's the answer to your first questions...

From the FAQ on www.meguiars.com here,

        http://www.meguiars.com/faq/

        4. Which is type of wax is better, a paste wax or a liquid wax?

The difference between paste and liquid wax is primarily one of convenience and personal preference. Meguiar's liquid formulas provide the same protection as paste, and are easier and faster to apply.
That said, there is something about spending a Saturday afternoon, leisurely applying a traditional paste wax to your pride and joy that people find both enjoyable and rewarding. This is especially true when the results from their efforts reflect their passion with an eye dazzling shine that makes passersby stop and look… and then look again.

              Re: Nxt 2.0 questions

I prefer the paste version. It dries more quickly, and you don't have to worry about shaking it thoroughly. I have never had the paste streak either, whether it is version 1.0 or 2.0. And IMHO the paste is every bit as easy to use as the liquid. I also believe it is more durable.

The 2.0 Paste is more difficult to find locally. If you can get your hands on some buy it, you will like it!

See, I'm the exact opposite - I prefer the liquid. But then again, I apply it with a finishing pad on the DA polisher, and the paste is more difficult to get onto the finishing pad than with liquid. I know I've seen people pull paste wax out of a can so that they can apply it onto the pads, but to me, it seems like more trouble than it's worth.

I'd say to go with what you like, what you feel most comfortable with.
