scratchx with bmw

my 98 bmw 740il have some swirl on the body, i just try with scratchx today but result is nothing change, i start from a small area on the hood first, for at least 4 times apply in the same area with horizontal and vertical direction, but still no improvement, why?

is it just the bmw paint cannot repair by scratchx with hand, or other reason?

Your description of your experience has been posted here so many times, so don't feel alone, usually the problem is,

Wrong Technique
Defects are too deep for hand removal
Paint is too hard for effective and efficient hand removal


Can't tell you how many times we've had people come to our Saturday classes or our Thursday night classes saying what you've said, then we show them the correct technique and the scratches go away.

At the same time, removing swirls and scratches by hand is very time consuming and difficult and this is why the Dual Action Polisher has become so popular over the last 15 years.

If you want the paint on your BMW to have a show car finish, you should check into stepping up to machine polishing. Outside of that, here some learning information...

If you have a good technique using ScratchX you could have this type of result
