Re: New to detailing...Need your advice

I got all the stuff today, have to go to 3 different places to get the stuff

For how long I should wait to apply UQD after applying NXT Tech Wax?

should I wait 12 hours or I can apply UQD right after finishing the wax?

    Thanks

You can apply UQD right after your final inspection of the car . . . by that I mean, after you remove the wax haze from the finish, revealing that freshly waxed finish, put the car in the sun and inspect it for any places where some excess wax might remain. With NXT, I would also recommend a second coat of wax, not for thickness, but for even coverage. Waiting between coats of NXT 2.0 is not required.

One more thought, make absolutely sure the wax is dry before you remove the haze . . . the humidity in Seattle will cause a longer period of time before the wax dries.

Happy detailing. Don't worry, your obvious passion for the car and for car care will lead you to do the right things . . . read the articles that Mike has recommended and keep asking questions.

Ultimate Quick Detailer is meant kind of like a "touch-up" spray. Let's say you're driving to a car show and you get a bug that picks today to die across your freshly washed car. Spray on UQD, wipe off the mess.

If you've got some dust on the car, or fingerprints...Spray on UQD and wipe off. It's kind of like a way to keep the car clean in between washing; it's not meant to be an additional layer of protection that you put on immediately after you wax.

Follow the Meguiar's 5-Step Paint Care Cycle and you'll see that Quick Detailer (or in this case, Ultimate Quick Detailer) is used to maintain the paint's cleanliness in between washings.

Do I really need to apply UQD after NXT? It looks very nich with just NXT wax?

What should I put for the chrome beading around windows & front grill? It's plastic not real chrome.

Today was the busy day. I just finished the wax. Only windows & wheel gel is left.
