what can use for detailing for chrome

which product can use for detail those "i think" ---> (rubber type chrome) in my car, can nxt all metal polish help on this?
coz someone said the rubber type chrome can't be polish, so i am not sure which product can help!

I think he means the rubber trim strips that have chrome (paint?) on them.

yes , you are right, my e38 have something like that on around the windows and on the bumper, which i feel it is rubber when i touch it!

I'd just go with a cleaner/wax at best.

Doesnt sound like metal, so a metal polish will be too strong.

Without seeing it in person, our guess is it may be a type of plastic chrome, that is the chrome is not actually a chrome metal coating but a chrome looking type of plastic, if this is so then using any cleaner/wax should or a product like our PlastX should work.

What are you trying to do?

Is the chrome components stained? Or oxidizing? Water spots?

thanks man, it just looks cloudy now, not enough shine to me , i gave it a try with nxt all metal polish yesterday, but can't help in any way but even more worst, seems like it has remove some chrome paint already, so i stopped , i will try load some pics here later , hope can find a accurate way for it!

Contact the manufacture and find out exactly what it is you're working on?

You always want to match the right product to the surface MATERIAL you're working on, or the COATING that is on the material.

So before you start applying products to your car, find out EXACTLY what it is you are working on. If you don't know, contact the manufacture.

Once you know exactly what the material or coating is, then it's pretty simple to select the right product.

Are the chrome bumpers real chrome? Or Plastic that looks like chrome?

Our Hot Rims Chrome Polish is for real chrome. If you think your chrome is actually plastic chrome, not a metallic coating like on the bumpers of our 1959 Cadillac, then stick with a wax like NXT.

What condition is the chrome in?
What are you trying to do?

If you have chrome, the chrome polish would be best.
