ability to layer NXT

seeing as NXT has a small amount of chemical cleaners in it, is it possible to layer this product ? If not why the recommendation to apply a second coat?

Hi Phinox,

There is so much controversy over the cleaners in NXT and whether or not a wax can layer, and even if layering is a good thing.

For what it's worth, two thin coats of about any companies wax applied consecutively, will always look better than 1 coat, and especially 1 thick coat.

I try to show this with cars at our clinics and at extreme makeovers. The way I do it is to pull the car out into the sun and have everybody look at it after one coat. Then, after applying the second coat I pull the car back out into the sun again.

I try to point out the differences and show people how to look, what to look for, and where to look.

The best test of any product is on a black car. And I can tell you after buffing out hundreds of cars in my life, (probably thousands, but I don't think I could make a list), my eyes have always convinced me that two thin coats always look better than 1 coat.

The second coat helps to even out the total appearance, the second coat insure uniform coverage over the entire surface.

Our chemist told me that subsequent applications of NXT Tech Wax will always leave behind more wax than it will remove.

The link Tim posted covers a lot of information. I would also note that most/all of the cars that come to the Saturday classes with multiple layers of competitors products always look better with just one coat of NXT Tech Wax.

Experience is a pretty good teacher by the way...
