  • HELP! problem with bug and tar remover

    help!

    it sprayed out nicely.
then it just became 1 single line squirt.

    then NOTHING.

    does it clog this easily?
ive shaken the bottle many times.

what to do? i had to resort to manually opening the bottle, pour some out onto a mf towel and dab onto the tar spots.

thanks in advance for any help

Well, it could clog I guess... Can you just dunk the sprayer part in some warm water, try and spray the water through?

This brought up something I've been wondering. What step do you use the bug tar?
I've always done it first, before washing the car (soap / water) that way I can wash off the remaining residue with the washing process.

If you are going to clay the car, do this first or wait and see how much the clay takes off?

If you have heavy tar I'd use the tar remover before the clay. Otherwise, it will gunk your clay and might even contain asphalt of other abrasives that, with clay, could get rubbed around on your paint.

I only use the tar remover before a detail/wax. If it's just a (weekly) wash then the tar will usually wash off... or I let it go until the next time I really get serious.

For bug, I use a wet dryer sheet, like Bounce. I'm not certain, but it doesn't seem to remove my #21. If you're concerned about that, waxing the front by hand is a pretty quick job.

Yeah, since B&T will remove wax as well, I only use it for a full detail.

But at that point, I'll do a bit of everything if I have to. Let it soak before hand; If some is left, put some more on before claying and rinse it off. Hoepfully the clay grabs the remnants.
