Re: Hot Rims MULTI PIECE specifics

haha i just received my product from a vendor online.. i ordered Hot Rims Multi Piece from them, for $10 a bottle, cuz i couldn't find it anywhere.

they sent me the Hot Rims Aluminum Wheel wash that replaces the Multi Piece..

Kinda bummed. even though i know it is the same product.. i waited 5 days to receive a different named product that i could of gotten at Kragen or Pepboys, 5 days ago for $6 a bottle... i think they should have contacted me before shipping.. came from oregon..

wutever.. should of found this site first... lol

I TRIED IT.. IT WORKS WELL... THE FACE OF THE WHEEL CAME OUT SWEET.. THE INSIDE OF THE WHEEL NEEDS SOME AGITATING.. I USED A SMALL GOOD QUALITY PAINT BRUSH TO AGITATE BETWEEN AND INSIDE THE RIVETS AREAS...

    GOOD STUFF.....

That's where a soft wheel cleaning brush or even an old, soft toothbrush comes in real handy. Yes, it can be tedious work (and it's definitely the downside to intricately patterned wheels), but the trick is to NOT let them get really dirty in the first place.

I just found this forum yesterday AFTER i ordered 3 bottles of Multi-Piece online for 30 bux.. yeah i got ripped off.. the reason i bought Multi-Piece is the wheel company that i got my wheels off of suggests it on their site.. i couldn't find it anywhere in any shops.. so.. i bought it online.. haha..
after the fact.. i went to BigLots by my house and they don't carry it..
Do they still carry it at other BigLots..? Any help would be cool..
I live in North Tustin, Orange County, California.. 92780

I would keep it on the metal. Obviously some will run onto the tire, but I do not think it is not meant to be worked into the tire. Granted Multi-Piece is quite mild, so it may not matte, but not the intended purpose.

APC or APC+ is likely the better choice for that.

Should this be used on the rubber part of the tire as well, or just the rims?

Definately get some, if not all of it. There is no reason not to use it, unless you live near me.

I was just at big-lots today and they had at least a dozen bottles of the multi piece wheel cleaner. The first thing I did when I got home was do a search on MOL to see if I should get it.

Sounds like it won't hurt to try it out. I have moto metal chrome rims that need cleaning.

I like hot rims alot, but I only use it when my wheels get very dirty. Since I keep the rims polished I usually just use a seperate wash mitt and bucket just for wheels and clean them that way and use a brush to get in behind the wheel.
