  • Paint Cleaner - Storage

    Hi Guys

From some posts on here I decided to purchase some meguiars paint cleaner to use this weekend. I dropped the bottle and cracked it, so i transfered the contents into an empty evian bottle.

Will it be ok to be stored in this way or does the product require a certain plastic container?

As a side note I obtained fantastic results with it, the car has a wetter look. However my paint still has some way to go to be at the stage where i'm happy with it.

I assume you mean the Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner?

I am pretty sure you will be ok with the evian bottle, there shouldnt be any real corrosive chemicls in the product.

The DC Cleaner is a failry mild cleaner, you may need to od some work with ScratcHX on the areas that have more swirls, etc.

      Thanks Murr

Yes I did mean Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner.

I'm going to post my results soon. I also have scratch X and I applied that to the worst off areas, and while it did help, there are still some scratches remaining.

My paint doesn't have the distinctive swirl marks you see on the majority of cars, my friend has them on his and they look quite mild. I have lots of small scratches going in random directions. It's quite hard to see these scratches (metallic silver paint) and when I run my nail across them I can't feel them, so perhaps I need to clay the car again, and use some more scratch X and a bit of elbow grease.

My car is a 2000 Volkswagen Polo GTi, I've read on here that german paint can be a bit of a pain in the arse to work with.

ScratchX is defeinately something that requires elbow grease. The car should just about be rocking on the springs really.
