    Just a further update...

I have discovered a couple of interesting differences between the G-100 and the new G-110.

The New G-110 shaft nut for attaching a backing plate is a different size to that of the G-100. Therefore, you must use the supplied wrench for the G-110 and use the supplied wrench for the G-100.

I also found that the bolts to hold on the bail handle on the G-110 are a different size to that of the G-100's side handle. To attach the bail handle of the new G-110, you use the supplied Allen wrench or a 6 mm Allen head socket.

I am still playing but will update the thread regularly.

    Can this be purchased?

Also I was thinking of taking mine apart to see if just a round handle (like they put on steering wheels for the disabled) in the dead center of the top would work.

The side handle has it's purpose, but I find myself reaching for right above the pad more.

Now that I have my own I will see if I pick up any new techniques.

      Morning,

Not that I am aware of as it was designed for use with the G-110. So while it may fit, if you can source the correct bolt size with the correct TPI, at this time as far as I know, Meguiar's does not sell the bail handle separately.

As for taking the buffer apart, there is nothing under the head you can bolt anything to. The head contains a spur gear in a lot of grease. Drilling and tapping would not give enough thread depth for attaching anything, besides that would void your G-100 warranty.

      Here is a G-100 I took apart:

Not looking to tap into the head, but to place a panhead bolt under the head pointing out and screwing the knob onto it.

What I do now is not use the handle, but use a similar screw in each of the handle holes so it's solid.

75% of my brain says that I will never even use the bail handle that comes with the G110. I don't use the one with my rotary either.

I'll end up putting two flare headed bolts into each side of the housing to keep it from rattling. I did this with my G100. Customers tend to not like rattling powertools on the roof the roof of their vehicles!!!

my exact solution too, they are 5/16 coarse (I think 28 TPI, but don't quote me)...nice and solid.

Even if you use the handle on one side, throwing a bolt in the hole on the opposite side quiets this down a lot.

Very nice write-up, I'm strongly considering buying the G-110 - would you reccomend it for a begginer like me? I've never used a machine before, but I want to, and want to know if this would be a good learning tool, as well as something I could get great results out of.

Most definitely! In fact, the G-110 is extremely safe to use and the results are incredible! Believe me, once a person uses the DA they wonder why they waited so long before they bought one!

Do you have to loosen the bolts to adjust the position of the bail handle?

                      Good question!

In my case, I did not tighten the bolts down really solid. That allowed movement, though it was fairly tight and stayed that way. Afterwards, I wanted to see the same you are are asking...if I tightened down the bolts so that they are really tight, then no, I could not moved the handle.

I would suggest, that a person adjust the handle to the position that suits their own buffing style and then tighten it down tight.

                            My biggest new question is........

If you already have a G100, will you notice the difference in the G110?

                            Is it worth the price?

Yes you will notice the difference. It is actually quite a bit more powerful.
