  • Limey's Love NXT

    Hi Guys,
Although this is my first posting on your side of the water, hence the long posting, making up for lost time. Can I just say I've certainly enjoyed reading thro' the many topics and admiring the many beautiful saloons or is that sedans you have cleaned and polished over there. It would be fair to say, that here in the UK, we need to clean and polish/wax (detail!) our cars a little more often than perhaps some of you do, but not all. It has something to do with the tropical climate we have ......not!
Anyway enough waffle, approx 15 months ago I succumbed to the "meguiar's way of life". At the time I had a Merc-Benz E Class Estate (Station Wagon?) and after one particular visit to the Dealers for a service it came back "gleaming" far better than I had ever cleaned it. It was then I found out that Merc-Benz use meguiar's in their bottles. I was hooked. At the time we only had the "gold class" stuff and it was awesome. Since then "meguiar's" has been the love of my life nothing in the UK could touch it, then........ this year we had NXT, well Mr Phillips and the boys in the lab what can one say!!!! Thankyou my two BMW's, one a black 1992 740 model, and a 1999 728i model would give you all a big hug if they met up with you.
Of course the problem is now you lot and the boy's on the UK site have got me experimenting with different products, and in the meantime emptying my bank account. Generally I wash (nxt shampoo, yes we have that too), clay. wash, GC Body Scrub, DC Step 2 Polish, NXT Tech wax (2 thin coats mind) and now I've started topping with DC Step 3 Carnauba Wax.
Whilst I am overjoyed with the finish and I know the cars are pleased as well. The detailing (can't you just say polishing) bug bites deep and no doubt I will in the future be trying the "professional paste number 16" as a topper, as like some of you guys I like to keep my NXT topped with carnauba I don't know why, I suppose it's just that I like the warmth of the carnuby wax, and I like to keep on top of my cars as they are used in my business and probably get washed 3 times a week and waxed once a week. I feel that I would be wasting the NXT to keep using that on a weekly basis. Although to be fair the cars get the full treatment every 10 weeks or so. Anyway, I just wanted to say, over here we like the NXT lots, it was made for our climate. By the way next time I'll keep my posts definately a LOT shorter, promise. Keep up the good work.

Good to hear from friends over the pond.

I had this thought while reading your post. Can you get the NXT Tech Booster Spray Wax there? I've taken to following up every wash or two with this stuff and it returns my autos to the just waxed look and feel. NXT has really shortened the time needed to detail.

This booster wax goes a very long way. One simple spray onto a hand applicator per panel. It goes on even thinner than the Tech Wax and comes off easy too as long as you apply it thin.

      Cheers.
      Jim
