  • Screwed up.....bought wrong product

I bought the Hot Rims Mag & Aluminum polish but noticed it's not recommended for use with clear coated aluminum (wheels in my case).

So the question is: what do I do with the polish?

I have stainless steel exhaust tips that I want to clean and shine - will this product work on stainless steel?

You can use it on anything with a metal surface, for your wheels you want to stick with "paint care" products like clay, paint cleaners and wax.

You could try calling Customer Care, cite this thread and see what they can do for you.

I'm not sure of their Holiday hours, so they might not be back to work until the 2nd. So you might just have to hang tight.

You could also return it to the store where you bought it if you haven't used it yet and still have your receipt.

Hey Mike - thanks for the quick response.

Already waxing the clear coated wheels.

I'll keep the Mag & Alum polish and use it on stainless steel exhaust tips.

It does an awesome job on stainless, chrome, aluminum, etc. I use it regularly on both cars with stainless exhaust tips.

And when/if you come across really bad water spots on glass, get some of the polish onto a microfiber towel, spritz some glass cleaner on top of it, then go to town on those water spots. It does a great job!!!

Did a quick job on the stainless steel tip on my C6. I like the initial results. Looking forward to putting some effort into cleaning the tips.
