Does the protective layer last on non-Meguiars wax too?

(NXT liquid wax is very easy to use (except trim compatibility: it initially seemed not to stain trim, but as the wax wore out on plastic trim, white stain appeared) and hides swirl well, but I am very likely to use something else because NXT is too expensive for my 15 year old 281000 mile driven car.)

I don't see why not. In fact, when Meguiar's was testing the product they applied UQD to a non-treated section and compared the product to another non-treated section. This actually allowed them to see/feel what the product actually does.

Can it be used for clay lubricant?

We do not recommend the New Ultimate Quik Detailer be used as a lubricant for claying.

When I clay, the surface is wet with the clay lube, and I wipe it with terry towel. So I may actually be putting a protective layer.

I know how it works. That question was pointed more towards Mike, but Brian said it should not be used for claying, so that takes care of that.

I am definitely ordering some! After washing my truck and flooding the surface with water to sheet off the excess water can I spray Ultimate Detailer onto my truck while it is still wet and then dry the truck with my water magnet as I normally would, or would it be better to apply the Ultimate Detailer after the vehicle is dry?

Its an awesome product guys..... I applied it last Tuesday to my grandmother's otherwise unprotected car (minus half of her hood). The first two days, water ran from it. On the third day there was a decrease in the beading action, but....

A week later it is still beading (compared to the not protected area). Also, this stuff goes on so EASY and is very restistant to streaking, even when I applied it in a car that was sitting in the Orlando sun.

Great question. The product is designed to be used on a dry surface for best results. We will check with R&D for an official word on what may happen if it is used on a wet surface, but again Meguiar's will only recommend it be used on a dry surface.

How does this product work on a carnuba-based wax compared to a synthetic in terms of "Polymer Protection"?

It seems like it is geared towards NXT and #21, so what about GC, #26, DC3, #16 and such?

Sorry, a few questions

1) Would durability of the protection be greater than M21?
2) Is it prone to streaking if applied above a sealant that hasn't fully cured?
3) Can it be used as a stand alone 'wax'?

Usually Meguiars products are compatible with other Meguiars products. So I would expect UQD to be compatible with all Meguiars LSPs. BTW, #26 does have polymers in it too.

I would use the least expensive QD for claying because it usually requires a lot of lube. And the Quik Detailer works fine as a clay lube, as does #34 Final Inspection.

Probably the only restriction on UQD is that it should not be used on fresh paint. That's what #34 Final Inspection is for.

Good point!

I do have to admit though, I like QD much more than NXT SD. QD doesn't seem to streak as much as does a much better job at removing water spots and dust for me. I am ESTATICALLY happy about receiving this new product because I wipe my car down every day, and would LOVE to have a better detailer to use that does what this does! Friday (paycheck) I am definatly ordering a few bottles!

Will we be recieving this product in the UK? Our local distributor carries very little product, perhaps someone in marketing could ask them to carry more lines as my emails etc. seem to be falling on deaf ears?

I was lucky enough to get a sample bottle and I agree this is Meguiars best QD product. After an easy, streak-free appliction, it very much reminds me of a fresh coat of Meguiars #16. Carnauba appearance and great beading.
