  • the point of quick wax

what is the point of using quick wax. isnt it just more work compared to just using quick detailer or speed detailer. isnt this taking away the purpose of a good wax. if u need to keep curing it with quick wax that kinda shows it doesnt hold up.

Actually Quik Wax is a booster wax. This means you use Quik wax after each wash and it gives your base wax a boost in protection and it adds a little gloss. Quik Wax isn't a replacment for not doing the full liquid or paste wax. Quik Detailer is just for wiping down a car or getting ride of a little dirt before it bonds to your paint. Thats the same with speed detailer.

Quick Wax contains some wax, whereas the QD or SD, etc doesn not. However, Quickwax takes a little getting used to, and if your car is very comapct, you may not see the same time savigs that someone with a full size car/truck will.

is there a need for quick wax. i may get if its easy to use becuase i wasnt sure weather u use it on dry or wet care or both. wat i was getting at with this question was if u have a good wax like nxt and u apply that to the car and u need to maintain with quick wax, well to me that shows it doesnt hold up to well. do u see what i mean?

Re: the point of quick wax

not always the case. you don't use spray wax because NXT doesn't hold up.

if your car gets dusty etc...you can clean it off and then use spray wax to make it pop and maintain its shine.

remember that spray wax is very easy to use, but it will not offer the level of protection that other waxes such as NXT and say #26 will. its main purpose is for "touch up" between waxes.

You could also try QD to wipe off dust occasionally. that's what i do. i don't use spray waxes at all.

          take a look at these..

Alot of people use Quik Wax for touch ups when going to a car show. Or even just for a wax booster.

so quick wax is just to bring back the wax after it starts todie out

Is this one of thse logic problems like on the SAT's...

Actualy, if your quick wax or quick detailer is hard to remove, not going on smoothly, then your base coat of wax is wearing off.

As far as washing, you would wash when the car is dirty.

wat i mean is, say ur quick detailing the car. next day ur quick detailer is hard to remove so u add quick wax. the next day u quick detail to keep car clean. will u ever wash the car again if this cycle is repeated?

Theoretically that is probably true if you have a garage queen! When I go on a trip, I use waterless car wash and quik detailer, upon returning I wash. Since my vehicle is not a daily driver I use quik detail & quik wax just to keep it nice. After a few weeks I wash, strip with klasse AIO, polish with #7, wax with #26 and then two (2) coats of megs#16.

I can feel the paint and tell it needs to redone!

Re: the point of quick wax

I dont really quick detail every day, I tend to QD or QW after washing.

You might be pulling together two different ideas.

The quick products being hard to remove is a sign to rewax, not reapply the quick wax. Even when your base coat of wax is looking a little dull, if it is there, the products will remove easily.

You should wash when the dust/dirt seems heavy, gritty, etc. My car is a daily driver, left outside, etc.. so I dont feel comfortable just using a quick detailer.

Maybe someone who QD's daily can chime in with what they find.

Re: the point of quick wax

y would u qd just after washing. when u rewax is it necessary to strip off old wax. so quick wax is to add a little extra protection and gloss between washes.

Re: the point of quick wax

Both products add gloss. So I can still refresh the gloss while finishing up drying just by using the QD.

Quick wax would add a bit of protection.

Some people like to use clay and cleaner to remove old wax before re-waxing, others just apply a new coat of wax. I like to clay and clean, but as I said, my car is always outside in the pollution, etc....
