  • asian market version NXT wax: how much different

In Asian market, Meguiars sells Asian Market version of NXT wax, Gold Class wax, Cleaner Wax, Quick Detailer, Natural Shine etc. (for example G12718AM as opposed to G12718).

I thank Meguiars for declaring that there is some difference in their products to consumers.

By the way, could you tell us how much difference, what kind of difference there are among Asian market version products and the rest of the world version products?

Some people spend some money to try various products and then to choose a products they like. If they go to Asia, should they do their test again because the Asian market version Meguiars waxes are different?

Never heard of this while working hear at Meguiar's. Not once.

Highly, highly doubt there is any formula differences.

    What would the purpose be?

Been told the toughest V.O.C. restrictions in the U.S. and this usually means the world, are in Orange County, California, that means if we make a product that meets any EPA regulations and standards for Orange County, then it's a given it will meet or exceed regulations and standards anywhere in the world.

Besides V.O.C. regulations what other formula differences would there be?

It's Saturday morning as we type this and everyone is off for the weekend, we can check with R&D on Monday but we already know the answer, there's not going to be any formula changes between what we manufacture for the Asian market or for any market.

Share with us who told you this or post a link to where we can read this somewhere else on the Internet.

      I saw it at
      [상품간략설명]

      .
They showed a picture of the bottle label of the Asian market version NXT spray wax with Asian market symbol. The web page had an explanation that the Asian market version is different. However, I cannot find that specific page now.

If you go to the page below,

you will notice that some products have AM at the end of the product number: G12664AM, G12718AM, G7016AM, A1216AM, A3316AM.

It's probably accurate that the packaging or labels are different, but the stuff inside the bottles. Probably just some confusion due to communication/language differences.

The local importer told me that #85 will be formulated differently for the Hungarian market. It will be stronger and tuned towards foam pads.

Ooh yes..... fortunately I looked at the calendar and it's April 1st.....

We also have some different endings to the product numbers here. It's like G-1116EU etc.
But I also often use some various imported stuff from USA and it's definitely all the exact same.
I think it's all about labels and packaging in different languages just like Mike already said.

Regardless of the date, the importer said so.

Here in Hungary, there is absolutely no culture of using wool pads, therefore a minimal adjustment is needed to retain maximum effectivity.

I link two posts by Meguiars Korea with my unofficial translation into English.

Products with AM label are different from the corresponding products without it. AM products usually have more cleaning ability because there are more dust in Asia.

The products for which the distinction by market area is not necessary have no AM mark.

NXT Tech Wax with AM (Asian Market) label is slicker than NXT Tech Wax without it. This slickness is also related to the superior ability of Asian Market Tech Wax in preventing stains from sticking to the paint finish. Due such difference, AM products are more expensive.
