    Re: Carnauba wax Question.

Meguiar's doesn't share proprietary information such as our product formulas.

In the big picture, the focus is on the performance of the product, not what's in it or how much of something is in it. In the even bigger picture, it's about trust, trusting our chemists have created a formula that performs to the highest standards, including how much Carnauba they put in DC3, and trusting the name on the bottle knowing with the name Meguiar's on the outside, the product on the inside will be of the highest quality.

Our premium wax with Carnauba, M26, cost a suggested price of $12.49 and we would put that up against any of the boutique Carnauba waxes costing in the thousands of dollars on equally prepared black paint, which is the best color to test any wax.

Also, often times you can find the answer to topics like this discussed in the Hot Topics forum,

Meg's Waxes - Carnauba % content per volume

          Re: Carnauba wax Question.

pure carnauba wax is as hard as a brick. that is to say, auto wax can't exceed a certain % of carnauba, before it becomes to hard. with "100% carnauba" products, what the mean is that any wax that the formula happens to contain is "100% carnauba".

            Re: Carnauba wax Question.

IMHO, You can't make a ring out of pure gold. But everybody want to know how much volume % gold is in a ring. That doesn't mean the higher the gold rate the better it looks! Same with a shirt with Kashmir in it, without the % Kashmir you're back to square one.

I read Carnauba wax is THE ingredient for many buyers to buy a wax. I don't know because I'm not into waxing yet but it doesn't mean that you will get better results with higher carnauba numbers.

But I think it's weird Meguiars say there formula is a secret. How Shell makes there oil is also a secret and how Coca Cola makes there Cola is even a bigger secret but for both products you can find exactly what is in it!

To me it would be very simple, if you want a wax with high vol. % carnauba wax just buy a wax that states it's volume % carnauba wax. I think if Meguiars would have a big amount of carnauba in there wax it would be a great way to attract more costumers and they would use it! Meguiars can always say 25 vol. % carnauba wax and still the formula would be kept a secret!

But keep in mind as Mike says the carnauba vol % isn't the only thing that makes a wax great it's the end result that counts! So I would say take a carnauba wax and put it up against the Meguiars #26 or maybe the #16 if you can still find any.

Bigger isn't always better but it would be very nice if Meguiars gave the vol %

            Greetings Peter
