  • Hard Parts to be Discontinued?

Meguiar's has discontinued all of the brushes that we all love! These are defiantly the best things you can buy, so why WHY WHY WHY would Meg's do this to us?

Not enough people were buying them to make them profitable enough to keep.
You left out licking the water off. Oh, wait a minute, that's my cat, not my car. Uh, I mean my cat licks himself dry. I don't lick my cat dry. Or my car. -PC.

That is correct. It's not a membership place. Happy hunting!

              I just called Customer Service.

              All of them!

Who the heck is running the show over there? Is it time to start buying boutique products????? I would have guess the high profit margins in spray heads and bottles could have "carried" the brushes!

That happened months ago, when word first got out.

:P even I knew this months ago.

I got myself a Wide Versa Angle Body Brush for $8.99

EDIT: i guess you were serious about that thread
I am in need of some detail spray. I want to get some off the shelf QD that has no wax in it. Does Mothers California Gold Showtime have wax in it? Thanks for your help.

                          Re: Hard pars discontinued?

Maybe Meguiars decided to concede the brush market to Turtle Wax!

Next thing you know they'll be discontinuing Supreme Shine Microfibers, etc!

I suppose it's good news for the botique accessory mfrs.

The Oxo body duster is very nice BTW.

Thats a real bummer, just the brushes and not the towels right?

                              Re: Hard pars discontinued?

Just the brushes, not the towels. In fact, some of the towels have been revamped and are listed in the New 2007 Products forum. For example, the good ol' work horse Supreme Shine Microfiber has had the satin edge removed and they are now edgeless. Word was Meguiar's was going to discontinue the microfiber bonnets too, but changed their mind so those should still be available.

But hey, if you build it and the consuming public doesn't buy it in numbers large enough to cover target margins, what else can you do? For all the great services Meguiar's offers - this forum, Saturday Clinics, Wednesday Night Open Garages, clinics in other parts of the country, supporting car shows of all sizes all over the world, etc - you have to remember that they are still a business and as such need to generate profits in order to remain in business.
