  • NXT on a Rotary

I heard it's best to use NXT by hand or with an orbital. Can I apply NXT using W9000 with a Rotary? How do I do it? Should I apply until the product dissolves to a shine? Or should I just apply hand hand using the hitech yellow pads, then buff off with W9000 to a shine? thanks

I don't think it would be a huge issue to apply with a rotary but, I'd use low speed (less heat) and little to no downward pressure on the paint (again, heat).

Long story short, the rotary is meant more for application and working a polishing product that may require more heat in order for it to fully work. AKA: allowing the diminishing abrasives to break down.

NXT has no such abrasives and thus, it's really an overkill on equipment.

      Hey,

There would be no benefit from using a rotary to apply NXT. In fact, it may do more harm than good. Because the NXT does not have Diminishing Abrasives (like Rockpick mentioned), there is nothing to break down per se. Moreover, since NXT was not designed to be used with a rotary, the product will dry way too fast. As a result, the rotary will bounce, causing perhaps holograms, buffer marks etc.

In end, it would be best to use a DA, orbital or your hand to apply NXT.
