I vote for carwash, why have the extra expense of a wheel cleaner if it is not needed. I have never used a wheel cleaner on my wheels.

I second the vote for car wash. If you are washing that often (and I assume you'll be waxing them as well) there is no need for a strong/possibly harsh cleaner on them

Best to treat clearcoat rims like rest of car...

and use car wash shampoo to clean brake dust off. Use specific cleaners only if your rims are neglected and have embedded road grime and such. A good synthetic paint treatement is best for these wheels as carnauba literally bakes off of a hot wheel.

I have had experience using a wheel cleaners NOT Hot Rims so I can't say anything about that... but others that have said they were safe on ALL wheels... on one of my car that I had clear coated Metallic Silver Wheels. I used several wheel cleaners on the wheels all worked well and after a year or so the clear coat started to peel on all the wheels once they started to peel that was it, nearly all the clear coat peeled off. Never again will I use a wheel cleaner.

So as others have said use a car wash soap actually from time to time I will use a little RainX Glass Cleaner to shine the wheels up, its not harsh no acids no nothing I have discovered it will not clean windows but it will clean wheels quite well and they shine.

My last truck had clear coated wheels and I only used car wash soap and RainX Glass Cleaner never had clear coat problems. Now my current truck I have clear coated wheels again and I plan on using the same as before. I did apply some NTX wax a few days a go and it really made the wheels shine and the metallic stand out.

          good luck!
