  • will QD remove NXT finish

I usually QD after washing to remove bug schmeg & tar that washing doesnt remove. NXT booster doesn't do a good job at this, it just makes it look shinier. Will QD remove my layer of NXT to the point of having to wax again?, or am I safe? If I have QD then apply booster, I just may as well wax the whole car. I know QD was safe when I used carnubba. Anybody know?

You should be fine if you let NXT cure 12 hrs before QD.

Just to point out, NXT Booster wax is not a quick detailer, it is not supposed to be used to remove light dust, bug splatter, finger prints, or tar. It is for use after using a quick detailer, or after washing.

No, Meguiar's quick detailers do not remove wax.

Meguiar's quick detailers are completely safe to use on all Meguiar's waxes including NXT.

          Hope this helps...

            Hey,

Do not worry about using a QD over a Meguiar's wax/sealant as it will not hurt anything! Besides, after you wash the car, using a product like Meguiar's Last Touch (replaced Final Detail), will really add to the gloss!!!

I just did a QD session after work yesterday, and let me tell you, the NXT shine is still there better than ever! It's been almost 2 weeks now since any NXT product has touched it! Maybe I'll throw some spray wax on it tonight, just to make it shine even more!

We haven't had much sun here lately in Indiana until today. I finally got to compare the MPPP and NXT side by side on the hood of my car in direct sunlight. While the MPPP looks very good, the NXT leaves a noticeably deeper shine. It has a 3D look to it.

The NXT makes the blue look "bluer" too.

I had the same question in my mind...

But Mike if I remove light dust with the NXT boosterwax or Quick detailer, do i make al little swirlmark then?

Until Mike can answer, the QDs like Final Detail or Last Touch have lubricants in them and they are removed while wet so there is less chance of swirling. Now of course you don't want to use a QD if your paint has mud or other gritty type dirt on it. You need a full car wash session then.

Spray Waxes like Qui(c)k Wax and the NXT Spray Booster Wax are removed after they dry. That is why they should not be used as a QD. Eagle One Wax-as-U-Dry is applied after a car wash and it may be possible that can be removed while still wet.

                    Hope this helps.

                      Hey,

I have to agree with RamAirv1, a little/light dust is fine. However, anything more, the car/truck should be washed.
