normally I try and quick detail my car the days I'm going to drive..and since my sencond attempt with the NXT booster left me unhappy (not shine wise, use wise - was a pain in the arse to remove)...so I was wondering if anyone has used Quick wax over the NXT...to boost shine & for a bit more protection??

Megs Quick wax over NXT wax

Hey,
Just to add,
The specialized cleaners in Quik Wax are very mild to say the least! As such, I would not be worried about applying it over the NXT. It may remove a tiny bit, but I doubt it would remove very much.
Here is a write-up on Quik Wax I did last year on Show Car Garage:

The two keys to easily removing NXT Spray Wax are to apply it thin and give it enough time to set-up. If you try to remove it while it's still "wet" it will smear all over the place and you just can't seem to wipe it all off.
Great results, but its just too time consuming to apply, wait and remove. In just about the same amount of time, I can put on a coat of NXT Tech Wax and have a more durable layer of protection than what the spray wax provides.A great finish begins with the right start!

thanks for the scoop...I did apply thinly (could barley see it) with sponge applicator (dampend with quick detail) and did allow to dry (25 min on "dry" day)...my Z shined up nice, but my gawd what a workout to remove!! I really like the quick wax alot...use it exclusively on my girls murano...surprised by the "depth" it has for a spray wax...now only if the nxt booster went on and OFF as easily!!

Hey,
When applying any wax/sealant you should not use any QD or water to dampen the applicator unless instructed to by the manufacturer of the product.
For NXT, it should be applied with a clean foam applicator primed with NXT and not a QD or water. I have a feeling that is the reason you are getting the smearing. Try it with just using NXT to prime the pad only.
Keep us posted!

I've used the NXT spray wax quite a few times now, and have seen some do's and don'ts with it. Number one, shake the hell out of the bottle. I shake vigously for about a minute, just to be sure everything is good. Number two, application tips - don't spray on the surface, spray on your applicator. The mist tends to get everywhere if you try to spray the surface. I actually turn and walk a few steps away from the car to apply to the applicator. I myself find a 100% cotton terry applicator to give the most even coverage. Apply very lightly, almost no pressure on the pad. If you see the product start to dry very white and thick, you're in for some tough times getting the product off. Elbow grease will do it, but it's a pain! If you apply lightly, there should be no effort required to remove it. I'll use the spray wax once a week, maybe once every two weeks.
