  • quick question

Ok, I have already used NXT and love it, and am now ready to detail my car for the beginning of the summer. I have some hard water spots (maybe light etching, dont really know) from living at school and not being able to "properly" maintain my car's finish. I have #9 swirl remover and NXT, plus some other stuff, but what can I use to get rid of the hard water spots, a paint cleaner? Any recommendations that I can find in Pep Boys or Advance Auto Parts? Also, should I polish the paint before the NXT? Should I use the show car glaze, i think its called? Thanks in advance for everyone's help.

P.S. If i'm going to use a paint cleaner I dont have to clay bar right???? Thanks.

    Hi Brian,

#9 will remove some defects, but you will have to work it into the paint quite a bit. I would recommend Medallion Premium Paint Cleaner since it is a stronger product than #9.

#7 Show Car Glaze is optional, and #9 can be used instead of it, since it has polishing oils in it too.

After experiencing what clay can do for a car's finish, then I would recommend that you clay your car also before using a cleaner...You will really never get the gloss you want by skipping over claying....Unless you want to use up a half a bottle of cleaner at a time.
